And while it takes many more than eight votes to oust the speaker, the entire Democratic caucus voted in lock-step with the small group of GOP rebels

How do the republicans that voted against not see this as an opportunity?

Install Trump as the speaker. Then remind the democrats daily that every one of them voted for it.

Congress has been in violation of their own law and haven't passed a proper budget since 1998. No biggie if the swamp creatures get their tender fee-fees hurt.

AOC couldn't outsmart a fricking bagel.

Yet she played the MAGA crowd into ousting trump's hand-picked speaker. I guess that means she's either smarter than you think, or the MAGA people are dumber than you thought.

Gary’s is elected from a district that want him to do this ahit.

This is how Gary’s stays in office.

if you’re in a more purple district you definitely can’t be happy with 8 reps highjacking the party.

graves want get voted out, that's the real problem. People bitch for years about congressman and senators and they keep getting elected. The American voter is at fault for this shite show we call congress.

This. I hope the fallout is carried over to elections and some of these GOPe incumbents get sent packing.

I'm guessing AOC is jealous that she and the Squad didn't do something similar a few years ago. They always roll over for the establishment.

So what he's saying is that McCarthy only had to move just a little to appease only 8 out of over 400 congressmen. He wouldn't, didn't and got voted out. We know exactly who Graves is. Lost my vote, you rino.

He made the promises necessary to get the office then reneged on them, thinking he was untouchable because no Speaker had ever been removed before. And he didn’t think they’d have the balls to try.

He gambled and lost. C’est la vie.

Well, assuming the republicans want to achieve anything, not having a Speaker doesn’t seem like the best way to go.

Yeah, I know some posters say they’re fine with the whole thing collapsing or burning down, but if that happens, they have no plan.
If chaos ensues, some sort of government will inevitably re-organize. And it may not be what you hope for. Believe it or not, American citizens want some degree of governance and order.

I think AOC and Pelosi out smarted McCarthy. McCarthy thought Pelosi had his back, that is why he told Gaetz “to bring it on”. McCarthy thought Pelosi would have the needed democrats vote for him to save his speakership. When the vote finally happened, Pelosi and the dems fricked McCarthy. That is why McCarthy had McHenry evict Pelosi from her Capitol office.

That proves Graves is an arse kissing Rino.

All the hate for Gatez only because Trump supported McCarthy
Trump would have kick Mccarthy's arse had he pulled that shite while he was in office.

If this whole drama has done anything, it just confirms what most of us already knew: it’s a cesspool under that dome. A real viper pit.
