Secretary Bessent has been very open about coordinating with the surrounding Nations to bypass the straight in favor of overland pipelines. Every day that passes, we are loosening the chokehold that the puppet regime in Iran has held over the price of oil across the globe.
Pipelines are probably the future to drive towards but it is seemingly going to involve Syria since that seems to be the most realistic nexus for all the regional pipelines to meet and get loaded onto ships in the Mediterranean.
So we need a stable and Western-aligned Syria in perpetuity.
Which, uh, isn't the surest thing to bet on...

Bomb their infrastructure until the population revolts against the government or we run out of bombs.

I read a lot of energy doom porn. The system is built to handle a lot of gasoline and so I don't think we will have shocks there. But, with what comes out of the ME and the way diesel and jet fuel shake out, we may be in trouble soon with those. Fertilizer is going to be an issue, too.

In August 2022, the price of gold was approximately $1,696.60 per troy ounce. By August 2026, the price had risen significantly, trading in the range of $4,000–$4,100 per troy ounce, with some records indicating a high of $5,415.17 for the year and a specific daily close near $4,375.50 in mid-August.

If it goes to 170M barrels, the caverns have to be rebuilt and are unusable after that, so 170M, is essentially zero.
I wonder why they don’t put 170 million barrels of water in there so as not to have a bunch of oil that is not recoverable.

We are already well down the off-ramp.
Iran has got nothing.
Iran has got nothing.

He will fill it when the price gets right after he renames the Strait.
