The vast majority of Canada's population is in a few urban areas.
The wilderness fighter types hate the liberals and the 20% foreign born imports.
That 20% have zero loyalty to Canada.
Quebec is the only actually culturally unified part.
And they hate the rest of Canada.
I think you miss a number of things in your assessment, while we could lose any occupation we don't care about. We would absolutely win an occupation we wanted to annex.

First, Canada wasn't a country. Second, no one won. It was a draw. To say Canada won the war of 1812 is simply ignorant.

Met a young Canadian dude on a cruise I was on recently hand he was talking similar, saying "oh our winters make us tough and because we have so few military guys they all know how to do everything blah blah blah" I just let him ramble. He fricking hates Trudeau with a passion though, so his rants on him were pretty entertaining.

First, the 1995 Film "Canadian Bacon" does a pretty serious dive into how a US - Canadian War would probably go down. So if your going to discuss this scenario intelligently, you need to watch that first.
