Not changing it. Creating it.

Apparently, in France rape requires some type of force. So, if the girl is 10 and consents it is not statutory rape.
They are considering setting the age at 13.

Age of consent laws are very tricky because some people develop and mature much faster than others.
Modern society has created this weird state where you're sexually mature but not considered emotionally mature.
Plus two 13 year olds having sex with each other is clearly very, very different than a 13 year old having sex with a 40 year old, for example.
It's just one of those things where the law should just allow for some common sense discretion.
An 19 year old who has sex with a 15 year old shouldn't go to jail, but a 40 year old probably should. It's hard to write a law to cover all the permutations and the exact situations.

Which Arab country are they modeling this after?

France has never cared about this stuff. So I guess it's refreshing they are coming around to decency.
The Prez could have 5 mistresses all 30 years his younger and the Press didn't care. Nobody cared in France. They never thought for once that power or authority equals force.

Because it doesn't. fricking hell, we're setting up a world where a man of means can't get laid without it being called "rape".

It seems to me that the benefit of having an age of consent is that it establishes a bright line in a court case.
If the man is accused of raping a 9 year old girl and his defense is that it was consensual then the jury has to determine who is telling the truth.
If the age of consent is 13 that determination does not need to be made.

That would be because of laicite. In other words, it’s against the law to campaign on how big your hardon for Jesus is.
They also mind their own business.

I’m sure the Dims/Progs aka “Slippery Slope Party” is celebrating in their safe spaces.
Many of us conservative Christians called this crapola years ago. These sick fricks will not quit until society has descended into absolute hell on earth.

Will it apply to muslims too or do they get a free pass?

The French are natural anarchists.

Is prostitution illegal in France?? - I honestly don't know - never had reason to think about it before the idea of legal 10 yer old prostitutes come to mind.

You think only muslims were marrying little girls the 7th Century? Or that Europeans were prosecuting pedophiles then?

Are you arguing against their age of consent or something?
They're adding regulation, not taking away. What is the slippery slope?

I'd go 14 or 15 but it's better than nothing.

The age of consent in some African/amazonian tripes is 12 years old.
Are we going to make change it?

This is NOT good for France and for Western civilization in general. I have a feeling the creeping Islamization of France went into formulating this bill
