I suspect he knows this but this is his way of threatening the Democrats which is fine.

If they can keep it running until next November that would be great. Most of the Dems candidates are senators, would be unable to campaign

McConnell said he is in consultation with the WH, and that this is their show. McConnell's problem is the Moderates who will vote to acquit, but don't want a trial. Graham comes to mind.

There's a tightrope to walk here. Trump can wrap this up quickly and not expose everything or he can expose everything and lose a few of his votes. Romney and several other people might defect if they go too deep into the kickbacks people are receiving from our foreign aid.

That is my fear for getting what I really want - that there are so many GOPers caught up in this corruption that they may rush to make a rapid 'guilty' verdict to hide from the wide range of corruption that may be revealed.

A quick trial is of the most benefit to Trump. Why would Trump want to line the pockets of his adversaries? Plus getting this over with clears things out for Durham, et al,
All of you want your revenge and you want it done in spectacle....that is the wrong way, spectacle gets Corey a book deal and time on cable, etc. It would make CNN, MSNBC,and the big 3 networks money. Shutting it down gives Trump space to consolidate power, organize for re-election and gives the Senate more time to keep approving federal judges.
Get this thing over with, win and then deliver hell upon your enemy....quietly. The message is more effective that way
