Are you having difficulty disguising between registered Republican voters and the state political organization that is the Georgia Republican Party?

No.

Nothing about the state party requires this

requesting that they refer to Duncan as an “expelled Republican”

I also don't see how they can ban him from qualifying as a candidate for the party. That sounds quite illegal.

He's literally a RINO.

There was no reason for him to even call himself Republican except to hide what he really is.

I dont blame GA Republicans from distancing themselves.

What is this virtue signaling

What virtue are they trying to signal? I think you'd be on firmer ground if you said they were grandstanding. Yes, this is symbolic, just like a lot of the stuff Duncan did to bring this about.

Strict adherence to the narrative, a purity test of sorts.

Duncan isn’t Republican despite his obtaining office as a party member. He is about as much Republican as Adam Klinzinger. The party is just taking public steps to point that out.

Can they actually ban him from voting in the primaries? That doesn't sound legal.

Georgia is an open primary state, so no.

So you've already proclaimed those acts are petty without knowing anything about the event at all?

How very MSNBC of you.

And if he's successful, at least he'll be knocking out a more liberal democrat...which means he'd be a more moderate republican. Georgia needs that!
Hopefully, we're playing the long game and this is orchestrated to get a more moderate Dem in there that can vote our way sometimes

The acts are petty.

It doesn't matter what the justification is.

The Georgia Republican Party also called on media organizations requesting that they refer to Duncan as an “expelled Republican” in any future media appearances or references.

Duncan comes from Forsyth county, a heavy red and Trump county. Duncan spoke at the 2024 DNC publicly supporting Harris and rejecting his own party and their candidate.

He has no business declaring himself Republican as a future candidate in Georgia and this public expulsion by
Party leadership confirms he will no longer be supported by the party if he chooses to run as a Republican.

This isn’t about how Duncan chooses to vote in an election as an individual citizen.
