re: Forget 4D Chess, Trump is playing the game of Risk and he's turning in cards.

If I got Australia early in the game I was about a 70% winner.
Taking Australia can give you an early lead but it will make you a target.
My early game strategy was to build up as many troops in *as few as possible* countries and not worry about holding any continents.
I would convince others that I wasn't the threat, more often than not I could Jedi mind frick them enough to get that critical card turn, the wildcards could also dramatically affect the game....game fricking on.

I’ve never played this.
The simplistic gameplay of RISK makes the real game (psychological warfare, as others point out) much more fruitful.

I don't know if Trump's wanting to leave his print on history by enlarging America or its something else. Whatever it is, I'm good with it. Its really what needs to happen to oppose the Globalist desires. If America can have direct control over all our coast and how things are run, it's a big disadvantage to those who wish to trap us in a New World Order.
China has already taken over a lot of Africa by holding them hostage through loans and trade agreements, they're doing the same thing in Central and South America.

I had a pretty serious RISK group once upon a time. We played almost every Sunday night for well over a year. We had to develop a whole bunch of supplemental rules to keep the non-wartime peace between everyone. Sometimes gameplay got so heated people would refuse to talk to each other for extended periods of time (even husband and wife).
same, except we were teenagers and didn't have extended rules..just a few fistfights and board flips.

Truth. Axis and Allies is an amazingly fun game if you get a good group together.

One of the best wrinkles we added to the game was turning one of the wildcards into the “Bomb Card” (by drawing a little cartoon bomb on the card). It allowed you to turn in that single card instead a set to get the next round of armies. Getting the Bomb Card and playing it right became the biggest factor in the game. It also leads to a lot of psychological intrigue over who draws the Bomb Card.

The Australia strategy is the ultimate hippie/stoner play.

Psychological warfare was just as important as rolling dice and turning in cards
he took extra pride in stacking the '10 army' tokens on top of each other just to reinforce how badly i was going to get whupped.
nothing as depressingas seeing Mordor's entire Orc army next to your meagerly defended border. once that border fell you knew what was coming.
damn, i'm getting PTSD

we could build up cards to wipe the other players out, and then turn on each other when the time was right.

yep.
when you know what's coming..and you go ALL IN to wipe the Juggernaut out and you end up leaving him with a few tiny territories knowing he's about to unleash Hell on his turn b/c he's got so many cards.

I once attacked Canada and took over Eastern Canada because I needed money. I was America.

I loved getting Australia if you had a couple of them already. Getting that, fortify Siam and move from there. You could get it early and move onto different things and get the early 2 armies more? Yes it limited you a bit but if you could get that early you could move on from there and streak from different areas with 2 extra armies early when it matters!

I didn’t vote for aggressive Pax Americana foreign policy. This board has gone full Bill Kristol.

When we played, whoever took control of Australia would generally have all of his other territories attacked by every other player in that turn, leaving that player with only Australia.

Both are facing economic issues, but China can still benefit from bending Russia over given that paradigm.
