So you are changing the subject as many apologists seem to do when confronted with the realities.

You start off asking about the legalities of secession and how Lincoln overstepped to asking about Emancipation in LA. Try staying coherent unlike many Confederate apologists

Was it a failure of leadership when bush went to war with Iraq and Afghanistan?

Not sure if this is a troll, but Lincoln did very fascist things during the war. He jailed newspaper publishers located in States that didn't secede who published criticisms of the war, and he suspended habeas corpus.

The Lincoln-Douglass debates are also worth a read. Honest Abe would be cancelled today.

A lot of people who believe the concept of states rights was fundamentally broken by the civil war are not huge Lincoln fans.

Is a states right to secede even hinted at anywhere in any official document? No. Because there is no right to secede. I don't think y'all understand how serious it would be today for a state to say "we are no longer a part of the US because we want to keep these people as our personal property.". Did they not expect to get slaughtered for such a stance? The brash arrogance of the south is astounding, and was visited upon by a just God.

No, it was never part of the Constitution, but it's never been codified similarly that a state cannot leave they union.

The 10th amendment grants all powers not explicitly given to congress or forbade by the constitution to the states and the people. Since the document didn’t expressly forbid secession, that power belonged to the states. That is the argument frequently used.

100%. Rather than thinking logically about the causes and circumstances of 9/11, Bush launched two completely ill-thought invasions of sovereign nations with no end-game or exit strategy besides vengeance. As a result, both were expensive quagmires that served only to bankrupt the United States, bleed our youth, destabilize the Middle East, and slaughter hundreds of thousands of Arabs, Persians, and Afghanis. That’s the best case take on what happened assuming that the official story of 9/11 is even accurate.

Social spending is what will bankrupt the US. I’m not necessarily defending our foreign policy but those wars were discrete events and not that expensive.

Shouldn't take a lot of effort. He absolutely was.

Now, whether one "excuses" this (and the actions for which the moniker applies) is another question.

100% truth. I have been posting many of those facts on here for years.

Lincoln is one of the greatest propaganda examples in American history.

If there is any justice in this world, he and that bastard Sherman are both burning in hell.
