How do you think cameras surveilling EVERYONE catch criminals?
ETA: speaking from experience. I have cameras on the perimeter of my roof, surveilling my property. Kids stole my vehicle from my driveway years ago. I had/have the whole thing on camera. Gave the footage to the police. No arrests were made because footage of someone’s faces don’t identify the person or provide their addresses or contact info for crime solving purposes.
I am not at all comfortable with mass surveillance.

Flock is actually worse than the physical roadblock.
And I'm betting based on your use of the word "passive" you have an undisclosed agenda/investment in these. What is it?
From a technical standpoint, there is nothing passive about them.

I think it's the ability to actively use the data by having the cameras everywhere and AI to parse through the data to find needles in haystacks. Add in the rapid rate that Flock is expanding and you find the pushback.
