Dumb bill. Unfortunately too many republicans are just as dumb as dems. Don’t see how this would stand

Yeah. He’s telling the free press they can’t write stories about him. Right?

What’s dumb about it specifically?

I’d have written it differently but I’m curious what you find dumb about it.

I would have just required disclaimers for paid lobbying masked as blogging.

I just Googled this. The bill was about net metering, energy, solar panels. Where was the Israel stuff?

Florida lawmakers really seem to have a problem with the first amendment. This is crazy:

It's the height of lameness to hide behind the "it's their headline". Dishonesty is dishonesty and you're riding along.

This bill is so vague. We know they’re after larger paid bloggers but it trickles down.

If a blogger/independent journalist is critical of a politician, and they are funded by lets say a ton of various patrons, they are paid for that post via crowdfunding. So they would now have to list each individual funding them, and how much each person funding them gave for that specific post which is impractical to do the math on because it doesn’t work that way.

It looks like another attempt by people in power to continue to consolidate power and not have anyone critical of them. Control the narrative — Brodeur being the person in power specifically.

This part of the bill just seems like another useless law. Republicans should be about less oversight, giving the state less power. People will always write hit pieces on politicians. Part of their job is getting over it.

Besides getting feelings hurt from swapping passive aggressive and overt insults back and forth between each each other based on what candidate we support or not, how do you feel about the legislation? Support or not?

Republicans who sell out Republican values cause FAR more damange to the country than Democrats who simply do what they say they are going to do.

I expect Democrats to act the way they do. When the Republicans act that way, we are in deep, deep trouble.

Shockingly, the bill doesn't mention DeSantis once.

Interesting that Jjobama and his propagandist "sources" specify him by name.

Wonder why...

Isn't this about getting paid by taxpayers to write blog posts?

Why get swindled by a clickbait hit piece from TheHill.com?

Agreed which is why a simple disclaimer is all that should be needed.

And it isn't even word for word.

Which means Jjobama spent time creating the title from the headline to push the subtletieshe wanted from it.

He's a good propagandist, I'll give him that.
