Should read “out of control government steals over half a billion from its own people”

Why are states allowed to run “surpluses”? Mail me my check, Jeff.

This is the most depressing “good news.”

We have the highest sales tax in the nation, y’all.

the socalled "conservatives" on this board are a joke sometimes. but yeah let's throw another 50 million in because jeff says so. and this is coming from someone who would benefit from an expanded program.

Just get the leg to rebate some of it and stop whining.

Would you rather be CA or NY?

You are only looking at this through a very narrow lens. You can talk all you want about this not being a conservative move, but remember many of these hard working tax payers people are paying for public shchools and also private school tuition.
For once the legislature passed a bill which would help the parents who had their children in private schools either to have them grow in a religious environment, or to keep them out of the soft wokeism of public schools and to place them in a safer environment.Instead of funding the bill for all who wanted to participate the legislature funded only $41 million which essentially covered only those students who had already been in another program which was automatically absorbed into LA Gator. There are very few new students who applied though LA Gator sign up. Thousands were qualified but only a handful more were funded.

For years we have seen the state fund special interests and woke educational systems ( directly or indirectly) and also fund pet projects or grant acontracts to friends and supporters of of politicians. Finally there was a an actual bill which would have helped so many families of every political party and race and the legislature and in particular Cameron Henry are the fricking laughing stock of the nation for passing a beneficial bill and nrefusing to fund it.

So Mr. Henry, you worthless little a-hole we are coming for your seat next election. We don't need chicken shite Republicans like you in the legislature and we are going to elect someone who respects the hard working people of this state.
