Another reason why it’s probably too late, apparently cutting anything is unconstitutional and the deep state is too entrenched. The Supreme Court will not intervene

Well, in this case, these cuts have already happened.

What's going to happen when those agencies just don't re-hire anyone?

Quote from the ruling:
quote:

The Office of Personnel Management does not have any authority whatsoever, under any statute in the history of the universe, to hire and fire employees at another agency. They can hire and fire their own employees.

Oddly enough, it seems the individual departments fired their employees. Not OPM.

Just like with DOGE. DOGE isn't ending contracts...etc. It's the departments doing it based on recommendations from DOGE.

These people will be fired and nothing this activist judge can do about it.

Gotta think before you fire. Esp. government employees.

Dream jobs must be protected at all cost. Also, the debt and deficit aren't really important and can be ignored.

Who fired 377k federal employees but something tells me the judge didn't care then and probably cheered for it.

This is the same Judge who issued an injunction to stop Trump from ending Obama's DACA program.

Amazing how the Left always gets the slam-dunk party line Judge to preside.

Of all the incorrect rulings against Trump, this has to be the worst. Ruling based on absolutely nothing.

Did you see what the ruling was based on? The Office of Personnel Management ordered these agencies to fire the probationary employees. The issue is that department has no statutory authority to do that. They were sued saying those employees can only be fired at the behest of their departments as that is who Congress gave the authority to.

The head of OPM made a sworn statement that he didn’t order it; however, when the plaintiffs wanted to cross examine him, the DOJ refused to produce him and withdrew the statement. Like so much of what the Trump administration has done, they did it the wrong way and shot themselves in the foot. There is a right way and a wrong way to do these things. They don’t take the time to do things the right way and it constantly bites them in the arse.

None of the cuts have actually been implemented other than in principle, the Republicans just passed a continuance of the same bloated budget for 6 months

...and this will go to the Supreme Court, and it will be overturned (along with the law) because the duties of the executive cannot be delegated to congress....something about Article 2
