The question is whether a country of 300 million plus people raised as free citizens will accept becoming slaves of a totalitarian state or will decide some things are important enough to put their life on the line for the future of their family and society. It is never a question of wanting civil war but defending themselves against attacking monsters. Monsters that will not leave them alone. And if they do not defend themselves against monsters, monsters will eat them. Only time will tell.

A substantial percentage of that 300 million (probably well over half) doesn’t really WANT to be free.

Oh sure…they’ll SAY they want freedom, pay lip service to it. But I’ve said it before many times on this very forum: freedom is HARD WORK. It’s responsibility. It’s making tough decisions for yourself. And way too many people aren’t comfortable with that. They’re either too lazy or too stupid to handle it. It’s just too easy to go about your daily life, being led around by the nose.

And that’s why we’re where we’re at today. The spirit that founded this nation is, by and large, dead.
