I can’t speak for FEMA in NC, but I handed out the first bags of ice in Hattiesburg by a volunteer group after Katrina while GW said FEMA was there.
Fact.
FEMA did not show up for two weeks… even though Camp Shelby, 10 miles down 49, was a staging area for resources going to NO and the Coast… which needed it obviously, but the fact is they were not where the WH said they were.

Can I see FEMA being told to seize supplies so they can be distributed in an organized way to where they’re most needed….and them some FEMA agents puffing up with their authori-tay?
Can I see FEMA wanted to control airspace with all of those flights?
Absolutely
Then, can I see them being so incompetent that they don’t have anyone in charge or capable in actually coordinating all of this and sitting round waiting for somebody to tell them what to do?

Elon is getting information from others. He's not a source
It's very likely there are issues but these issues are most likely due to local incompetence, not FEMA
Then there is a mixture of dishonesty and the Telephone Game spread via social media, amplifying the effects of both

Well, to be fair, FEMA needs those supplies to give to all the Third World fricking animals that they’re flying in from all over the fricking third world. Priorities and all.

Pot meet kettle
You have no idea where the man gets his info, but go ahead and act like you do

Elon gets his info from Slow, I bet.

Elon says is reported by space x engineers trying to deliver supplies. So yes, is a second hand source. But is that second hand source credible?

That's irrelevant to the conversation. THAT is the source, not Elon

Yes, but most (maybe all?) NG units aren't comprehensive and if I remember correctly they're mainly combat arms as opposed to large logistics. You can get boots on the ground from them but they're not a smaller version of a military division with all the associated organic units (medical, logistics, etc).
Everything you’ve said here is complete bullshite. National Guard units are indeed comprehensive, having both combat arms maneuver units with logistics and support units. The National Guard currently comprises of 8 full infantry divisions:
28th ID
29th ID
34th ID
35th ID
36th ID
38th ID
40th ID
42nd ID
In additional to this there are numerous independent brigades, both combat arms and combat support.

Oh, FEMA is capable of plenty of incompetence without local help.
The fact is that sometimes "issues" are just the reality of the catastrophe. This isn't something that's gamed out and people rehearse for it, and a local's view of the response is very much in the "3 blind men and an elephant" realm.
I have a good friend I'm in contact with in downtown Asheville. It would be asinine of me to share what he sees and pretend that's the reality for someone in Chimney Rock.

You must be one of the insiders who make money playing ball with FEMA.

I addressed this
If there are shenanigans, it's likely local LEO, not FEMA
Like the story about the helicopter rescue dad threatened. That was caller "FEMA" in the echo chamber but had nothing to do with it.

Across the US, yes. Not for an individual state. The discussion was about what the NC Governor could do with state resources.
Dumbass.

Tennessee mayor on FEMA attacks post-Helene: ‘Quit spreading those rumors’
A mayor in Tennessee joined other local officials Friday to denounce skepticism and rumors that have swirled around the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) response to the devastation in the southeastern U.S. from Hurricane Helene.
Mayor Glenn Jacobs (R), who serves Knox County, Tenn., signaled in a post online that the attacks on the administration could make recovery efforts more difficult.
“To my knowledge, FEMA, TEMA, nor anyone else is confiscating supplies,” Jacobs, a former professional wrestler, wrote Friday in a post on social platform X. “Please quit spreading those rumors as they are counterproductive to response efforts.”
“If everyone could maybe please put aside the hate for a bit and pitch in to help, that would be great,” he added.
The message comes days after allegations were floated that FEMA does not have enough money to provide disaster assistance, is stealing cash donations from survivors and has turned away volunteers.
