Maybe the Dems shouldnt have been so obstructionist on every single thing Trump has tried to accomplish for the past 2+ years and he’d have been more willing to work with the Dems and thrown them a bone one their blue slips. Trump is just giving the Dems a dose of their own medicine

What she’s not mentioning in her quote are the number of times a senator refused to endorse the prestdents selection.
She’s basically blaming Trump for her own obstruction

It's really just to make the lazy Senators not have to do their jobs. The filibuster should be Senators standing at the podium and talking for hours on end to block a vote. One after another, tag team style. If they can keep it up for a long time, they can sway public opinion. If they can't, the vote happens.
Just because a rule has been in place for a long time doesn't mean it should be there. Right, "white-only water fountain" Democrats?

Which they spin as Trump being vindictive looking for revenge of them "starting the conversation"...

This is more like a blue slip

Democratic senators have made and continue to make good faith efforts to find consensus picks for the circuit courts.
The best they can do is create a kangaroo fruit-loop court!

in an analysis titled “Thanks to Trump, the liberal 9th Circuit is no longer liberal,” The Washington Post noted that once all of Trump’s current nominees to the bench are confirmed as expected, there will be 12 Republican-appointed judges on the 9th Circuit, which consists of 29 full-time judges.
Oh the shame! It must be like getting tea-bagged!

IIRC Trumped offered to get "their judges" approved in exchange for his border wall funding, as well as DACA, etc.
But Orange Man Bad.

they have to get the senators in that area (in this case Feinstein and Harris for the 9th circuit) to give informal approval of the nomination before the person is submitted.
Actually, they don’t. It’s been an informal gesture done in the past but it isn’t mandatory or effective in this resistant political climate.

Yes, which means radical Democrat in the normal persons view.
I really have to laugh at their efforts to label anyone who isnt 100% socialist dem an extreme radical and anyone who is 100% socialist/activist dem as "mainstream" or "bipartisan".
Yes, I'm sure Dianne "Chinese bought" Feinstein and Kamala are extremely interested in true bipartisanship.

You are correct madam, poor wording on my part, should not have said "have to", its just a gentlemens agreement, and since we have not abided by marquis of queensberry rules for a decade now, this is not necessary.

Politicians LOVE to be able to say "I tried but we just didn't have the votes." You are so correct.

So the post menopausal powdered yeast in her depends skank is mad because her President is appointing REAL judges who uphold the Constitution and don’t make rulings based upon the fee-fees of mentally ill prog-tard leftist fringe whacko losers?
Most excellent. What’s bad for Democrats in 95% of anything now is good for the fundamental foundations of this Constitutional Republic.

Blue slips are utter bullshite, another contrived "rule" the Senate made up to usurp another branch's power.

Sounds like the kind of argument you would make if you were arguing with a bunch of eight year olds.

I suspect it wasn’t about about accommodating senators, but getting a straight answer, and avoiding politically expensive fights.
The senate used to be much more powerful.
