Springsteen isn't interesting, and neither are "movies about musicians".
Put the two together and, well... ?
Watch Peter Jackson's "Get Back". I guarantee your opinion of movies about musicians changes.
...unless you're only referring to biopics.

Of course, you know he will be painted as some great American folk hero!
With each passing year, 'the Boss' has become more and more of a self-centered prick pandering to the Hollyweird crowd! He lost touch with his base years ago...

There are plenty of libtard examples of that ... they're everywhere. Musicians and Actors, et al.

Springsteen hasnt had a Top 10 song in 32 years. Which means a teenager that might have bought his music is now 45. A college student back then is now 54
These people arent buying a ton of movie tix. Theyre just waiting until it comes on a streaming service, and they have a free night to watch it
The only reason this is a movie now, is because hes anti-Trump. And that alienates over half of the movie going audience

I truly believe this has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with Springsteen being criminally overrated as a singer his entire career.
His prime is too far gone for new music listeners to suspend disbelief and treat him like he has talent.
Eta
That said I will still absolutely watch it because of the actor playing him, and because I'm old enough to have a dad that drank all the boss koolaid.

Watching Springsteen and White on the Graham Norton show recently and they mentioned that Springsteen was on the set a lot. That seems like a blueprint for hagiography rather than something representing what actually happened.

As I said in an MTV board thread on the film, BS has an interesting story to tell.
Not Nebraska -- but rather his early years trying to break through (artist biopics are invariably most dramatic at the beginning).
BS was in a heavy metal band that broke up, and he spent a couple of years playing amateur nights in NYC as an acoustic solo, When he was finally discovered (by the discoverer of Dylan) it was mostly for his lyrics. He got a record deal but his label tried to mold him into a singer/songwriter like James Taylor, and he rebelled.
He was inevitably ripped off by his 1st manager, whom he later sued. His 2nd manager helped him the devise the "Boss" persona. Of course it was a pose. BS was never a Working Man, no more than John Fogerty was born on the bayou or Mick Jagger learned about love from honky tonk women.
BS' early years could make an interesting story. But it can't be told at the moment, as BS as well as the managers are still alive. Aside from possible lawsuits, I doubt if BS wants to publicize some of his past, such as his allegedly living with/off an older woman when he got out of high school,
BS is important for two reasons:
1. His relentlessly energetic live shows made the term "bar band" respectable, and he successfully translated that ethic from bars to arenas
2. He helped mythologize Mook Culture. BS took Fogerty's Working Class Hero persona and modified it a la Joizy -- this was his one stroke of originality. This concept is unavoidable now (Saturday Night Fever, Sopranos) but was considered passe in mellow 1973, as dead as John Garfield when BS and Scorsese revived it.

Good. There's no bigger fool than the man who wrongly accuses others of being fools.
Boy, these TDS-obsessed actors/entertainers are having it rough these days. Clooney has moved to France and hinted that he's done with acting. Tom Hanks screwed the pooch playing a racist MAGA supporter on SNL, and his 10-appearance contract got canceled. DeNiro is basically done. Haven't seen where Julia Roberts has been in anything lately.
They all "love"* Obama and HATE Trump. I guess those idiots are paying the price for being on the wrong side of history.
* I'm not sure that Clooney loves Obama so much anymore, after Obama used him to help get rid of Biden and then left Clooney hanging after that situation blew up in George's face.

Was the actor who played Bruce a black trans woman?
I seriously had absolutely no idea they had made a Springsteen movie until now.

I like glory days that’s it

Clooney sold his tequila company for a billion dollars a few years ago. He had a few partners but he still came away with $300 million or so and is still involved with them. Hanks has done several Apple exclusive movies, Julia Roberts did some shows for them too. One of the issues with streaming is that it may look like stars have disappeared when in reality they've been working for an app you don't have.

Glory Days and this song are about the only two Springsteen songs I ever liked. Growing up in Upstate New York, music from New York City trickled North. I remember Springsteen and Billy Joel being very popular in school. Springsteen I hated immediately.

I doubt it I'm the only MAGA guy around here who reveres Willie Nelson while fully aware of his politics. Springsteen is a douche but a Willie Nelson movie would be fun.
Agreed. "I'll never smoke weed with Willie again." has to be in there somewhere.
Now back to well-deserved boss bashing.
No. I will not be seeing this one at the movies or on cable.
No frickn way.

I can’t stand Springsteen, but you guys are nuts; he had lots of great songs.

This is not surprising, I don’t know one fan of his, not 1.
