FCC Investigating CBS For Edited Interview with Harris

I'm shocked the FCC is taking any action to investigate the FCC. The FCC is accountable to Congress. I wonder what's at play here. Perhaps the Biden/Harris administration doesn't have the influence over the FCC as they do with other federal agencies???

That's what I was thinking. As stated, I haven't read much about the FCC and have no idea of their politics. I see they are accountable to Congress, makes me wonder if the House Republicans may have influenced them to take some action.
I don't know and was hoping someone might have some insight.

The case law cited in the complaint to the FCC says distortion of the news to favor a candidate is a violation of the law. Sure would like to see this fully litigated (with discovery). Somehow, I don't see that happening.

Not to be that guy, but I don't know that it is accurate to say that the FCC is investigating CBS.

Fake “investigation”. The FCC has no oversight here. Trump keeps saying the FCC should “take away their license”. But they have no license. The only thing the FCC licenses are the broadcast spectrum licenses which, generally, aren’t owned by the network, but by the local broadcast station owners.

Orange man bad, not the "news" station selectively editing an interview with a presidential candidate, then doubling down on the lie after being caught.
Imo CBS and MSNBC are violating FEC.

Their findings will probably recommended charges against Trump for this.
