FBI sent undercover agents into Catholic churches to investigate domestic extremism

They were targeting Catholics (such as myself) who attend the Traditional Latin Mass.

"Based on the limited information produced by the FBI to the Committee," Jim Jordan writes in a letter to FBI director Christopher Wray, "we now know that the FBI relied on at least one undercover agent to produce its analysis and that the FBI proposed that its agents engage in outreach to Catholic parishes to develop sources among the clergy and church leadership to inform on Americans practicing their faith."
Jordan notes that this "shocking information" and that it "reinforces" the need for the FBI to respond to the committee's subpoenas and requests for information. He brings up the leaked bulletin from an FBI field office in Richmond earlier this year which identified Catholics who attend Latin Mass as potential domestic extremists.

While not a Latin Mass, if there were FBI agents in Easter Sunday Mass, I'm sure they got a eyeful of Huntsville, Alabama's finest. Seemed like every Catholic police officer was in sunrise Mass on Sunday. I'm okay with that.

When I attend, probably at least 70 percent. Are over 65 years of age. The rest are generally families with multiple kids. They don't have the time or money to plot an overthrow.

I've never heard politics in a sermon either. I think the closest was many years ago when a controversial Jesus movie was made and they recommended not seeing it.

I have. It happens all the time. No need for priests to sugar coat deviant, sinful behavior.
I've attended 6 different Catholic Churches since New Years Day and have heard political messages in four of the six. I'm OK with it. It's not preachy, it's simply straight talk.
