The world is a lot more complex than your very simplistic, myopic world view.
We may regret it later. But we’d also regret keeping him now and letting China’s influence metastasize in our Hemisphere.
Sometimes we have to act and actions like this with zero American casualties can be positive.

I follow politics closely, and this came out of nowhere. We don’t bomb countries or capture leaders simply because drugs are entering the U.S. from their territory. If that were the standard, we’d be talking about military action across most of Central and South America.
So what’s the real reason, were they getting too close to China?
Our military executing the operation well is impressive; however, forced regime change almost never turns out the way its advocates promise, and at some point it shouldn’t be our decision who runs Venezuela. That choice belongs to the Venezuelan people.

I think higher ups in the Venezuelan military were in on things and gave Maduro up. As someone who has been around Venezuelans for decades through extended family, Maduro was despised by 90% of the country.

Government. We will give them billions for a favorable regime.
But they make too much money helping transport cocaine, so not much will change.

Check the other thread. The new government is already settling in. This was all done and dusted prior to the strike.
This is about as clean as it gets.
