Meh those are early exit polls, I’d be disappointed with only 19.5% for AfD. I bet them 20%+ on polymarket now that odds have dropped to 28% that they go over 20%.

Doesn’t make sense that their polling had them around 22%, if anything they should overperform in a place like Germany where people don’t want to be outward of support of the right

I coukd be wrong because i am far from an expert on german elections, but if FDP and BSW both get 5% or more than it is impossible for a government to be formed with just 2 parties assuming the Union will not partner with AfD.

this tracks pretty well with gdp... the former Soviet, East Germany poor areas have to compete against mass immigration that lower their already low salaries

Means AfD will be frozen out because SFD and the CDs along with another minor party will have a majority governing coalition. Another plus is that the Greens are emasculated too if they don't join.

Far right? These days, the “far-right” label seems to be applied primarily based on one’s opinions or policies regarding immigration. If you dare to suggest simply controlling immigration, you are automatically considered part of the far-right. It is very difficult for those who have argued for mass immigration on the basis of “morals” and “ethics” to admit that it has had negative and in most cases disastrous consequences.

Far right is a pejorative description. I didn't hear one European YTuber describe them as conservative right.

Think of the Republican Party sans the Reagan and Trump era’s.

This emphasizes why the EU is bad. German citizens’ influence in their own country is watered down. No matter how they vote they are partially at the mercy of the EU.

LMAO. Can't wait for the reactions on this board when the new conservatives in Germany play hardball with Russia.

Far-right in Europe is equivalent to the Libertarian Party of the US.

The Christian Democrats are the equivalent of the establishment RINOs.

CDU is farther left than our RINO’s. They’re more like 90’s Democrats. CSU, its Bavarian affiliate, is a little more socially conservative and closer to the early 2000’s GOP (RINO)

But in any event, outside of immigration and foreign policy, every party in Germany, even AfD, are further left than centrist US democrats on most things.
