Almost all of that shite comes far more from china, especially medication where we get like an alarming 70-80% of our ENTIRE countries pharmaceutical supply.
The rest are usually shitty but cheaper

We really need to reconsider our economic relationship with Muslim countries

Yes, but I've seen people say the same thoughtless nonsense about China. And Canada.
Pretty soon, we're going to claim we don't need anything from anywhere else, which makes absolutely no sense with the trade deficit we have.
Even if we could supply it ourselves but import it b/c it's cheaper. If we start buying from our own, more expensive supply, then prices go up.

All I saw in your list was "probably".
Kind of comical.

Kalamata olives. I was going to type out olive oil but that's California.
San Marzano tomatoes.
I have a border collie and I think they are a European breed. Just checked and yep they came from Europe.
Porcelain paver stones that came from Turkey.
Colognes and perfumes.

Good maybe we'll get to keep American beef here instead of exporting our best and importing crap beef.
Posted on 3/12/25 at 2:26 pm to Seldom Seen
Nobody cares. No one over here is drinking American whiskey anyway. Hell, I'm American and I don't drink American whiskey.

Trump needs to keep playing this like the "kick a buck" scene from Cool Hand Luke.

My thoughts exactly. We are about to see a surplus in beef, whiskey (not whisky), and 2 wheel zoom zoom machines.
We are about to live like kangz with gout and a mid-life crisis.

This is a weird way for me to look at this, but my dad is a beef farmer, and he has been unable to walk away from it at 77 due to prices. I'd love for decreasing prices to give him the mindset to finally scale down to a few favorite cows in the field by the house, instead of up to a thousand on 4 different farms.
Enough cows to enjoy, and to uh, fill our freezers. ;-)

Are you denying anywhere from 70% to 85% depending on the source say every single pharmaceutical used in our country, think about that for a second every thing in a pharmacy, hospital, etc, comes from china and you dont find that insanely alarming?

My biggest wish is for the Buffalo Trace whiskeys to be readily available here so tariff the crap out of them
They can't keep any product in the shelves in the US

If they are putting tariffs on things like Harley Davidson, HD went woke a long time ago. No one will care.
Maybe Trump can stop US beef from going to Europe. They'd have to sell a lot more here in the US - cheap steaks for everyone.
If Trump really wants to screw them, he can forbid the sale of spare parts for things like the F35. Their fleets will be grounded in days.
