everyone list 5 things in your house that came from Europe. You can use raw materials. You can even use things that were DESIGNED in Europe but made elsewhere
1. The cork in my wine bottles (maybe Portugal?)
2.
3.
4.
5.
Thats my list

They're really asking to get fuct dry.
Someone should remind them about their little energy crisis and what few options they have for O&G.
This is going to end up being an epic self-own.

Every machine in our plant is made in either Germany or Switzerland. There really aren’t any viable American alternatives.

Trade in goods with the United States in 2024
How much were EU tariffs on American goods in 2024? Seems to me that the EU having such a huge trade surplus is not a good place to raise their tariffs.

Immediately remove all troops from any EU country and remove all of the continent completely from our nuclear shield.
Outside of Poland Hungary and the baltics all of their militaries are a complete joke.
Allow Russia NK and china to absolutely steam roll them if they don’t back down immediately

The EU duties aim for pressure points in the U.S. while minimizing additional damage to Europe. EU officials have made clear that the tariffs — taxes on imports — are aimed at products made in Republican-held states
Why aren't they also adding oil to the additional tariffs since most of their oil comes from red states?
quote:
The United States is now the biggest supplier of crude oil to the European Union.
In December, 18% of the bloc’s crude imports came from America, EU data office Eurostat said Tuesday.
That is a big turnaround. Russia was until recently the bloc’s top supplier of crude
quote:
The states of Texas and Louisiana together exported $53.7 billion worth of fuel oil in 2024, accounting for 76.8% of the total U.S. fuel oil exports by trade dollar value.

Beef, whiskey, and motorcycles were ALREADY heavily tariffed by EU and EU individual members.

Their arguments are bull shite, if they drop all their tariffs, Trump will do the same. What part of that do people not understand? They know, they are just used to screwing the US and don't want to see it end.
Posted on 3/12/25 at 2:13 pm to Seldom Seen
Let me get this straight EU tariffs the shite out of our products not including their VAT. Trump Tariffs them and a tariffs are bad and not nice, now they are gonna tariff harder.

everyone list 5 things in your house that came from Europe.
1. Likely a significant portion of the medication in my daily dispenser
2. Most of the parts in one of my cars in my driveway
3. Undoubtedly many of the rubber gaskets and strips that are everywhere in my house
4. Probably the mineral oil in the utility room
5. Probably the chemicals in several cleaning products under my kitchen counter
Stuff that is in the US but isn't in my house that came from Europe:
1. Nuclear reactors
2. Lots of general machinery
3. A significant portion of medical equipment, optical equipment, photo equipment
4. Lots of boilers
5. Various electronic equipment
Can we stop with the, "I don't need nuffin' they got" line every single time some country pushes back with the tariffs?
You DO need something they currently supply. If you didn't, we wouldn't have such a big trade deficit. You can't have it both ways.
That's not a philosophical statement on the tariff war; I'm not advocating one way or the other in this post.
But it's just not true that we could stop importing everything we currently import from Europe, China, and Canada, and not have shortages. And I've sen someone claim we didn't need anything from each of those three countries.
Just be honest. If you like the tariffs, advocate for them based on reality, not fantasy.
