Uhh yeah, China and the EU aren’t our friends to begin with. Also what trading history are we ignoring from the EU?

As I get older the more I start to think that the human condition isn't a want to be free, but is actually the opposite. Just look at most of the world and the entirety of human history

All this proves is that our "Allies" were our "Allies", just as long as we funded their countries and their businesses got wealthy off our consumer base.

One of the biggest lies in world affairs: The suggestion that the U.S. “funds” European social programs by contributing to NATO…

The Royal Navy has more admirals than warships. Germany has maybe 3 combat-ready aircraft squadrons, most of which are 4th gen Eurofighters. The French, the best funded of the European armies, can deploy perhaps 3 divisions of light infantry in any meaningful amount of time.

How is it a lie if they don't have to spend capital on their military apparatus? You don't have to have NATO funds go directly to social programs to be considered help.

They also get funded by the tariffs they place on American goods, and limit our ability to sell in their countries, but have had better rates selling their products in our country. Their manufacturing increases, jobs increase, wealth increases, etc. You would be a fool to think that the U.S. involvement in NATO did not in fact help these nations thrive monetarily and socially.

Not to mention yearly aid packages.

Here's the rub......both China and Europe, particularly Germany and Italy, have aging and dwindling populations. They're past their prime consuming years, so are reliant on exports to maintain their economies. Both Europe and China are going to expect to be net exporters to the other, which is what will cause a breakdown in the relationship.

Nothing. Nothing can replace it. There isn't another currency with the volume and stability of the USD to facilitate world trade.

Remains to be seen but my money is on a central bank digital currency of some sort.

This was very obviously going to happen. When a global super power retracts from the world another one will swoop in to take its place. It was always going to be the negative of isolationism. The problem is a retraction of some kind was always going to be necessary given our long festering situation. Its a tough balance to achieve

If we’re not careful, the world will align and isolate us.

I've heard this before but I don't understand how our shifted stance on tariffs makes us "isolationist?" Are all the countries charging us tariffs isolated (because of the tariffs)?

What I'm trying to tell you is that the EU is a Globalist organization. And yes, sadly most of the countries in Europe have been co-opted by globalism.

Do you think Macron is a good guy? Do you think Starmer is good, too? Do you have a positive opinion of King Charles?

We’re gonna come out of all this with a lower standard of living than we have now. The world is more interdependent than ever and this failing MAGA doctrine is moving us in the wrong direction.

Yep. For example, BYD has been selling cars there for a few years. Once the European companies take a hit from lower US revenue, they’ll come back.

Some of trumps biggest detractors on here keep claiming they support these conservative and libertarian isolationists.

Lol! So Europe is going to get in trade bed with the country that is funding the threat to European countries and ww3?

This might be the biggest political hypocritical policy in all history. We must stop Russia at all US costs, now let's negotiate trade with China, who is aligned with and funding Russia war against Ukraine.
