It's sports talk radio.
This isn't the 90's.
The novelty has worn off.
Who listens to people arguing for entertainment? I'd rather just go to a bar and argue with some drunk about who was better Montana or Marino.

The debate style shows are a horribly tired model and outside of live sporting events ESPN is worthless.
The debate shows worked when it felt like there was some authenticity to the discussion. Early PTI, the Sports Reporters, and even going back to Siskel & Ebert, worked because they were old newspaper guys having genuine debates about things they covered for a living.
Nowadays, ESPN assumes they can stick any talking heads they want in front of a camera and have them yell hot takes about a myriad of topics, mostly for the sake of generating social media attention. The try-hard "hipness" is cringeworthy too.
They drove the format into the ground while being completely oblivious to what made it work in the first place.

Early PTI
Was appointment viewing at one point. Then when it got a certain level of popularity they had to SJW it up. They used to go to break by showing chearleaders and dancers and shite. They used to hit some sensitive topics and at the same time do kind of a mock the system type thing. Everything was fair game. The got in trouble for it and after that it started a down hill trend. Kornhiser has made comments about it on a few occasions.

Peppa Pig is a pretty cool show.
Daddy Pig is a know-it-all who can’t do anything right, but they all love him anyway.

Breaking up Mike & Mike was stupid, IMHO.

This is all so shocking. I mean the pent up demand for listening to more sports reporters and former athletes preaching political correctness instead of talking about, I don't know, SPORTS, is huge isn't it?
One more time ESPN, people like to watch sports to escape and to feel happy. If they want to watch politics or debate there are lots of other channels to watch. How stupid are these people?

ESPNs new SJW morning show: worst debut ever

The show received tens of thousands fewer viewers than SportsCenter did last year on both ESPN and ESPN2. This means ESPN spent tens of millions of dollars to have less viewers than it did before this show even existed. Ratings were down double digits over the same time last year.
well ESPN is sliding fast so they can theoretically argue that they're still way ahead of the "replacement show"'s theoretical ratings

Nickelodeon happened to be airing Peppa the Pig head to head for a bit on cable in the nine AM hour. And Peppa the Pig just dunked on ESPN all balls to the face style, posting 753k total viewers. That’s triple what ESPN did in the same hour. (
ouch
WELL, I DON'T BLAME PEPPA PIG TODAY. It was the episode where doctor brown bear cured george's cold with warm milk. My little boy and and I found it quite brilliant!

what a $1000 investment in polling would have uncovered
They could go down to the local Denny's around 900a and find out how much their average consumer hates their ideas with the quickness.
shite, there are millions of people every day on the most active sports forums and social media that broadcast what they hate about ESPN daily, for free.
At this point, there is no way they're still trying to figure things out. They know how much Americans hate them and they don't care. They would rather be wrong and go out of business than reflect the views and viewing habits of their audience.

I treat ESPN like I do every other channel. If there is something on that interests me, I watch or listen. If they don't, I change the channel.

Grandpa Pig is the best!
“Nice toy train Grandpaw Pig!”
“Gertrude is NOT a toy! She is a MINIATURE LOCOMOTIVE!”

a show built around Mike Greenberg?
Seriously you are correct. He sucks. If you didn't know who he was and he sat down next to you in a bar and struck up a conversation you would move.

Man, the golden years of ESPN were so good.
They've gone the attention whoring/social media buzz to attract younger viewers and it's failing spectacularly. They are far more interested in the pop culture side of sports than the journalistic side.

Two of those host greatly annoy me at all times and Rose can get under my skin rather quickly. I’m not shocked by any of this.
Beadle’s former show got better when she quit it
