Hmmm? Maybe why ESPN is pointing out the NBA's Chinese influence.
An effort to separate themselves from the "get woke go broke".

Deets on what ESPN has been saying? For we that have cut ESPN out of our lives. Thanks.

They’ve been woke for 15 years now. That’s why I stopped watching 15 years ago.

No. I also didn't speak in ridiculously broad certainties that are patently false and unprovable.

neither did ssubba, dude simply agreed with what the article stated, and he's correct. you melted and demanded accountability from everyone that has "cancelled" espn

This has nothing to do with them being woke, it's cord cutting.

The loss of those eight million subscribers will cost the network roughly a billion a year in recurring revenue across all ESPN network properties.

Dropped the sports tier on sling in 2020. Did not pick it back up in 2021 for football season and didn’t miss it. Don’t want to give them my money so likely won’t pick it up this year either.

did you poll everyone who dropped espn? lol

Well, if the story was that cable has lost that many subscribers, then you would have a point

quote:

Is cable losing subscribers?
Losses on the cable side accelerated in 2021. They dropped about 2.7 million subscribers, compared with a loss of 1.9 million in 2020

You got 11 downvotes but that's exactly what the article said.

Meh, it's the way this board has evolved.

Just like so many AWFL's on Twitter, too many (but not all) PB posters have become knee jerk down-voters of anything that challenges their worldview or narrative.

Doesn't matter that you are not agreeing with or justifying what you are putting up there. They just want the world to tell them what they want to hear.

He did, and if you don't see it, blame your public schools. They had 16 years to teach you to read.

live TV =/= live action

Live TV is when you watch it as it's released.

Every time something like this happens you get the “more streaming options these days”, and “cord cutting” rationale, but it’s mighty strange it’s not happening to the majority of the “non-woke” stations and services.

I will cancel my ESPN app as soon as LSU baseball season is complete and it knowing the balance of their games will be on national TV.

For me, it was gradual. I dropped Cox Cable for cost and no longer wanting so many channels and tried YouTube TV for a bit, only to realize that I didn't even want/need that and dropped it all by midsummer 2020. By then, I was glad I had.

Who'd you migrate to if I may ask? Want to chop big box cable too.

I’m one of the people that dropped them because of woke politics. I don’t use their app either. I’m not alone. People loathe that shite
