You are FOS. I’ve shot just about every mainstream caliber gun out there, from an .17HMR to a .50 caliber, and it absolutely comes into play at that distance, especially with lighter bullets.

Answer honestly, you’ve never shot a firearm, have you?

It’s hilarious this is all you got from that long response in the OP!

I am envious of people like you that get to walk through life this aloof to their own surroundings.

Check out the video of them getting him into the SUV. There’s 3 fricking female SS agents side by side next to the SUV.

I’m sorry, but if I’m being protected from assassination, I want pretty much all men on my detail.

Especially not the fat woman who can't get her gun holstered!!!! That's the Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle DEI hiring. She said she wants 30% female agents.

Just found a ballistics chart for .223 55 gr. Sierra.

10 mph wind from 3 o’clock, wind drift at 100 yards is 1”, 200 yards is 2.1”

So that’s 10mph instead of 5mph. I’m sure the SS snipers had wind meters with them and they would know what the wind was.

Sierra bullets

Tell us you know absolutely nothing about ballistics without actually saying it.
Well done.

You are assuming, of course, that this amateur would-be assassin was aiming at Trump's forehead and did not flinch when pulling the trigger. In his haste to get off multiple shots, he sprayed quite a bit given that only one bullet got close to his intended target.

Wind was a factor, but no the main nor only factor that saved Mr. Trump's life it seems.

I have seen the video that shows the SS sniper (if it is SS and not local police or contracted sniper) and he did not pull his face away then go back to the same spot. He pulled away, located the source, moved his weapon and tripod, and then sighted back in and I suspect fired the lethal shot killing the low life.

If that post is accurate, heads need to roll at the SS. Especially when they didn’t even remove Trump from the stage in those 3 minutes prior to the shooting.

I know Prince knows his shite, but is there really that much wind drift on a 55 grain .223 or 5.56 bullet at less than 150 yards and 5 mph wind?

This is general, but there is about 1” of drift on a 5.56 every hundred yards of so and about 1” for every 10mph of wind. So distance and wind probably would account for 1.5”-2” of drift in this scenario. Again, rough estimate.

ETA: and just saw the other post saying basically the same thing.

The wind was from the NW based on everything I can find on observed winds at 6:10. That kind of wind would have helped that shot get closer to Trump. Without it the shooter probably misses altogether.

He knows his shite. I was very impressed with him after watching Shawn Ryan’s podcast with Prince. He was basically hung out to dry because D.C. is run by weak minded feckless people.

Of course it does

Especially if you’re a using iron sights only, aiming for only the head, squeezing the trigger too fast because the shooter felt rushed

This was very amateurish and the USSS didn’t have enough personnel nor the competence to put this man down before firing a single round

SS was, rather than malevolent in their duties, simply assumed that nobody would try to assassinate Trump and simply was derelict in their duties of pre assessing the conditions and the location. In other words, they simply were incompetent and didn't know what in the heck they were doing.

Checklists, briefings, back-briefs, confirmation briefs etc are created specifically to take stupidity and eliminate it from the equation. And there are multiple people involved. A child would stand there on that stage and identify that roof as the #1 place to establish a presence.

People blame incompetence far too often. Malice is much more common. This was a deliberate hole cut into the protection scheme.

Body armor can only stop a rifle bullet if it hits a plate carrier on the front chest or back that protects the vitals.

Pretty much no body armor can stop a rifle round to the side of the torso.

Surely Trump had level 4 torso protection.
