Like when government imposes tariffs on business?

Just another reason not to pin our hopes on fallible people.

DOGE was a failure anyway. It doesn’t matter until you start cutting entitlement programs and defense. Trump never cared about cutting government spending in the first place.

Is there a human alive in the USA that doesn't want the Golden Dome to protect the USA? The Congress critters want us to continue to nanny state everyone and feed Israel and Ukraine militarily- while we deplete. They are lobbied to do this.

We need to think of America first for a change. They can fight their own battles.

Trump's big spending is on the military, which is McHale's Navy, with most likely classified special projects.

I will be the first to call out Trump but what is it he wants other than military refurbished and a golden dome? He doesn't take a paycheck.

Welfare/Medicaid for illegals is not what he wants. The no tax on tips and no tax (up to $4000 tax write off for seniors on SS/disability) is a good thing IMO.

So how is Trump a spending whore, when he is anti-neocon war, yet wants our military strong?

I read through the thread. Yours is the best post so far.

DOGE was nothing more than low hanging fruit for MAGA and a bullshite political light and sound show.

The emboldened part, among other things is where the real money is spent, and The President has zero interest in cutting any of that shite. He's a big spending populist democrat. That's all he's ever been.

But what other choice does he have?

His admin negotiated and participated in the drafting of the BBB.

Did you miss Stephen Miller giving it a balls deep blowjob on X a few days ago? Trump also has promoted and supported it

The White House website itself claims the BBB is Trump's

quote:

President Donald J. Trump’s One, Big, Beautiful Bill — a once-in-a-generation opportunity to cement an America First agenda of prosperity, opportunity, and security into law — is one step closer to the finish line following its passage by the House of Representatives.

How y'all fall for this spin that it's Congress's bill is so silly.

quote:

Should Trump tell the chamber of commerce to pound sand and go write the BBB himself?

His admin was directly involved in writing the bill

Oh, and the WH website also cites a quote from the head of the COC

quote:

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Executive Vice President Neil Bradley: “The House sent a clear message today—American workers and businesses want and need permanent tax relief. A competitive, pro-growth tax code doesn’t just grow the overall U.S. economy, it raises wages for workers and improves the lives of Americans. The legislation passed out of the House this morning contains critical measures that support main street businesses, enhance America’s global competitiveness, and bolster sustained economic growth. The Chamber commends Speaker Johnson for his leadership and commitment to ensuring the permanence of President Trump’s pro-growth tax reforms, and applauds the lawmakers involved in driving this effort forward. We encourage the Senate to continue to move the legislative process forward to deliver lasting benefits for American workers and businesses.”

quote:

Unless criticism forces him to call a tribunal and show the entire DC establishments widespread corruption and their very involvement against him.

Again, Trump's admin participated in writing the bill and claim it is THEIR bill. Is the Trump admin part of the "widespread corruption"?

The beast is the swamp with Congress.

Lots of people sucking the dick of Trump's BBB would be quite embarrassed if we bumped some of those early DOGE threads

I hope that's sarcasm. The Dome sounds like a Reagan Star Wars boondoggle. If we get into a launch with Russia, it's all over, anyway.

I give Trump an A for the border, but the rest is just kind of hitting the wall. He has resorted to beating up on foreign students for small wins.

So, then, what was even the point of DOGE? I like that they slapped around USIP, but even that got overturned.

Yes, you were correct. Anyone with a clear mind could see the DOGE, bullshite razzle dazzle from day one.

The President and his handlers are almost six months in and they're already running out of shows they can put on for MAGA.

If all the "conservatives" in Congress are so great and Trump is such a bad big spender...why are they putting bills on his desk that increase spending?
