When his admin directly negotiated and wrote the bill AND supports the bill, yeah.

Elon is right. Trump is wrong.
We lost.
My question is, who thought this would play out any differently?
From the very beginning, those of us who are paying attention knew that the DOGE cuts were going to have to be ratified by Congress. And most of us were alive and politically aware, when Trump had his first term and Congress was the biggest roadblock he faced (the controlled opposition GOPe being a mortal enemy of MAGA).
I still follow politics because I like to know what's going on in the big picture and to be aware of all the creative new ways that government is screwing me, but that's the only reason. We are long bereft of any semblance of hope. Congress is one third of federal government, and they're wholly corrupt. The SCOTUS is one third of federal government, and it contains two sitting members that are actually principled conservatives- while the other 7 (including the Chief Justice) are activists. The final one third of federal government (the President) can achieve nothing outside of Executive Orders, and even his executive orders are being halted by political activist circuit judges in the lower courts that lack authority and standing but are still stopping the President's agenda nonetheless.
I really wonder what percentage of our population, even here on this board where even the tards are more in-tune than the average American, actually understand how truly screwed we are?

for its ability to spur domestic manufacturing, reduce utility costs, and ensure businesses receive “meaningful U.S. investments” based on the current tax structure.
Nothing with the “green” or “environmental” label as legislation has ever reduced utility costs.
