Yes. If everyone were given 1 million dollars tomorrow, purchasing power would rapidly decrease as hyper inflation takes hold. Soon the poverty level would simply be at a much higher income level.
A good example from history is the Hajj of Mansa Musa of Mali. He gave away so much gold that it became almost worthless, economies of whole countries collapsed. That was just one man.

is ok to admit you're a poor who has never actually driven a Tesla with fsd.
I've driven a Tesla. I think the waymo cars do better with self driving. I think Tesla is still a few years away.

The concept is great but who is going to fix the AC? The here are all kinds of issues
Who is going to be a trial lawyer and a judge and a jury? Robots can't do those jobs
With everyone else not working and getting paid these will need 3-4 times the UBI
What happens to colleges? No need if no work.
Too much uncertainty and I think an UBI is decades away and the wars will have taken place by then
And did nobody watch the will smith robot movie Damn

If work is optional, then money is irrelevant

Star Trek comes at you fast.

It's easy for your mind to wonder when you give deep thought to this topic. What happens to the stock market, The job market, People's 401ks, retirement accounts, etc. If you knew this were to be true.. and it's starting to feel more and more like when and not if at this point given AI/LLM advances.. how would that change your financial decisions in preperation for it? Would we still contribute so aggressively to our retirement accounts and the broader market in general knowing there's a chance that it morphs into something completely unrecognizable? Or would we spend that money in a completely different way knowing there's a chance the world we knew has transformed so much that those things become more obsolete & you lose everything that you worked so hard for when society & the financial system resets. Those are life altering decisions. It's interesting to even speculate about something as paradigm changing as that. Even crazier to think that's only 1 tiny piece of the greater puzzle anyone under 60-70 is likely going to have to navigate in the future.

There is a lot of new technology. Where it all takes us, how it all blends, in to the near future, is an interesting question.
Crypto/Banking
AI
Robots
Drones
Self Driving
Space Exploration
Energy
VR/AR
Blockchain
Gaming/Metaverse
Surveillance/Security
Quantum Computing
Gene Therapy
Individual Medicine
Facial Recognition
Robot/Human Hybrid
Longevity
I’m probably forgetting some stuff.

work optional society will collapse under the inherent sloth of humans.
No it wont.
Males will always create a biological hierarchy amongst themselves which women will adhere to when picking mates.
Everything men do right now is for status and validation to mate.
"Work ethic" will be applied to something else. Those in power will find some other means to enslave the low IQ people of the world. All the while, they will set up a system where the majority of people try to out act instead of out think the solution.

Then you’re retarded. I drove my MSP from Memphis to the Woodlands a few weeks ago and the only time I touched the steering wheel was to pull in the charger. Can Waymo do that?

I love all this shite about “there won’t be any work”.
Okay. Sure thing.

That can be the real Optimus, right? Looks like a piece of shite from that video.

That's when we will mass depopulation... which COVID was a test run for. To see how easy it would be to convince people to turn on their own neighbors, friends, family and report them for not blindly going along with the demands of their globalist overlords... even when it comes to taking a vaccine meant to thin the herd.

Talk about a bleak future. What one does for a living should never define a person but everyone needs a sense of purpose otherwise we all end up like the folks on welfare.

Turn your hobbies into a service or goods you can make money from. You wouldnt be limited to UBI.
Posted on 10/23/25 at 8:47 am to Kjnstkmn
The only way to hold off UBI is to tax the bejesus out of robots & AI productivity. There will have to be serious incentives to hire people and not robots/AI.
Humans will not be able to compete in any industry, it'll be owners and everyone else. I don't know how UBI would work longterm but I don't see an alternative.
