Your mistake is that you think moderation in defense of tyranny is a virtue. It’s not. Moderation can also be tyranny. You want to moderate my natural rights, that makes you a tyrant.

From my point of view moderation is I might not agree with you point of view, but resect your right to have it, and if by chance our beliefs came into opposition I would be willing to work with you, to find a common ground solution that would work for both of us. You clearly aren't paying attention. One Party is fighting publicly every day for this and the other is shrill, angry , intolerant and violent.

Ok here's my idea I need you to work with. I'm going to take away your right to Free Speech, you can not own a gun, your taxes will be increased, abortion will be extended to the moment of birth, and from now on your kids will have to attend a mandatory Trans Rights class. Work with me on this.

We have a Representative Republic. Not a Democracy.

Republican Party in 2022 is more liberal than the Democratic Party in 1994.

He’s right. Can’t join the libertarians as they are just mostly crazy.
So I remain independent and always vote R.
He should start the next party.

From where you are. And from where I am it means more to the right. That's how perspective works.

Far right is technically anarchy.
In most instances far right is:
Anti porn
Pro life
No drugs or alcohol

If you fall in line with all this you’re basically a lunatic.

FTR, friend, I think you are discussing general TEMPRAMENT more than politics. You just want reasonable people to act reasonably and not dig in and do what is best for the country. Most people agree that would be nice. But it's not going to happen. So pick your poison or stay on the sidelines. The Republicans have moved very much to political moderation in my lifetime, the Democrats are now Radical Leftists. There is no equivalency between conserving American traditions, principles, ideals and Institutions and tearing them down.

Pretty sure most people here think both parties suck. That is the biggest difference between the left and conservatives. Conservatives don't fall all over themselves to agree with everything their party does regardless of how insane and damaging it is.

How many on the left, not politicians, agreed with 40 billion going to Ukraine during an economic crisis? How many on the right agreed with it?

How many on the right said the Buffalo shooter should be executed immediately? How many on the left said the Waukesha attack was a car accident or described it as an SUV driving through a parade?

"A party more moderate on ALL issues than EITHER Reps OR Dems...would be ideal" ~ Elon Musk, May 22, 2022

WHA....?!?

"Moderate" on what specific metric??

Dems entire position is TOTAL INSANITY by a million miles no matter the issue.

It's solely been Republicans who have been preventing all of us from drowning in a sea of the Dems' insane, bizarro-world behavior and agenda.

So why is Musk seemingly hedging his bet here?

Is this Tweet about Musk getting The Memo to tap the brakes on criticizing the Dems too much? For wanting to buy Twitter WHILE exposing it's BS BOT infestation? (AND for crossing tControllers' Line a bit too much lately?)

FWIW, I don't believe Musk believes his own Tweet here one bit.

Unfortunately, you are off base. You are confusing open-mindedness with a location on the political spectrum.

Left, right, center, moderate, are all somewhere on a spectrum.

Being unwilling to listen to other points of view has nothing to do with that.

Take adult men being able to fondle and sodomize peripubescent or even minor boys.

That is either OK, or it is wrong. A far-leftist is for that as evidenced by the democrat's support of such things in many blue strongholds. A conservative looks at that and says in no instance should an 11-year-old boy be allowed to be arse raped by an adult.

Now, 20 years ago only the smallest amount of people saw that as ok and they were looked at in society as freaks and outcasts and were typically thrown in jail for their actions.

Is the moderate thing to do to listen to why an adult male should be allowed to do what they please to an 11 year old if the boy agrees?
