I belive the vast majority of the country are are more moderate, but are being forced the choose between ultra liberal or far-right, because being calm cooperative and level headed doesn't sell.

It's really absurd that in a country this large is dominated by only 2 legitimate parties.

What does it mean to be far right?

Are conservatives far right?

Is maga far right?

Inquisitive minds want to know.

Absurd or simply the logical result? I agree that most are in the middle and a third “middle ground” party would easily win. Unfortunately, we humans really really really like “either or” situations and will always seek to narrow the field down to just two.

Us.

Them.

The human way.

How about a party that promotes personal freedom while limiting government intrusion and control, grounded in the constitution with equal application of law.

Far right people don't control the GOP. Far left people have WAY more sway in the democratic party than the far right does in the GOP, but the far left doesn't control them either (yet).

I think what most people mean when they say this is that they don't want a totally locked down immigration process, but not an open border either. They want restrictions on late term abortions, but before a certain time period or in certain cases its ok. Maybe some gun control measures.

The Republican Party has moved left, yet it gets characterized by the Democrat propaganda machine as extreme right wing. And people like Musk, who naively think the left will engage in thoughtful debate, concede this fake extremism as a sort of olive branch.

I think it’s bullshite.

It does no good when a large number of republicans vote for leftist things or fall in line with the left, i.e., Romney, Murkowski, Collins, McConnell, et al.

If you want to call people that don’t capitulate to the woke left as being far right, then you can label a lot of people that way. Far right, you couldn’t even define what it truly means.

Immigration. There is legal immigration and there is illegal immigrants. I have never met anybody who opposes legal immigration.

Abortion- be specific. How long would you give the mother to terminate the pregnancy?

Gun control- we have thousands of gun control laws. What would you add and why?

Again very respectfully , no platitudes- be SPECIFIC.

It’s the Little Bear leitmotif.

“This porridge is too hot.
This porridge is too cold.
This porridge is just right.”

Moderation to avoid the appearance of extremism is for uncritical thinkers.

when the left is so astounding far to the left as they are, being simply in the middle is far right, comparatively.

Calm down I just used the common buzz words that are mostly used. Wasn't trying to single anyone out or attack anyone's political stance.

Man. No one has time for that. We just need to like be less extreme, man. And whenever someone is being extreme, be less extreme than them. And just kinda chill on the political stuff. You know. And when someone says stuff that other people think is weird, even when none of them have critically thought about the long-term implications and ramifications of their view, as long as it sounds kinda moderate, that’s what we should be doing. No one get excited.
