I've been working from home since around 2011. 100%. Never been a problem for me or the companies I've worked for.

I just don’t understand why people care where other people work from when it doesn’t affect them in the least.

And no neither I nor my wife work from home

Correct. I don't go to work until Thursday, Friday, Saturday this week. These WFH fraudsters have been in this thread all day

Odd take.

Truck drivers get to listen to podcasts/music all day while they work but I can't. That's not fair! They shouldn't be allowed to listen to podcasts or music all day, they need to get off their moral high horses!

Oh you can work 3 10's or alternating 3 12's or whatever the frick? Cool, I have to work 5 8's and that's not fair.

Oh you get off on holidays? I'm an essential worker, I have to work all year round or find a replacement. I have to alternate Christmases off with other employees, it's not fair!

Etc.

Etc.

Etc.

This has been discussed in management classes for years. Once someone has a kid, everyone else on the team is expected to pick-up the slack.

Kid is sick, mom must come-in late or leave early. Single employee doesn't get that benefit.

With this approach, you establish that mom doesn't even have to come to the office. And it isn't as if the kids can take care of themselves while mom devotes her full attention to her job. If that were the case, she wouldn't need childcare at all.

There is a moral question on the table. Is less expected from a working parent than an employee with no children? We all know the answer to that.
GOT DAMN! You nailed it! Our owner just hired a single mother with 5 kids. She called out the 2nd day on the job! Lives an hour away, to boot! I feel her situation, but at the end of the day, a whole lot of other people with better decision making skills, are doing her job with no extra pay.

The odd take is yours. Nobody is complaining about listening to music why you work. We are talking about going grocery shopping and to the gym while on the clock instead of working. The Truck driver going to pick up a TV for himself at Costco instead of taking his load to Sams like scheduled would be a proper comparison.

Are you trying to make MAGA look bad or is that just a side effect of you sharing your thoughts?

He’s far better off when he doesn’t give his opinion and sticks to twitter posts. I’d like to know what exceptions Elon is considering.

What you don't get is, the non-WFH worker has a time and place to be. Everything is put on hold in order to get the job done. WFH crawl out of bed whenever, take a two hour break during the day to run errands, etc. with almost zero concentration on keeping the gears of the machine moving. They are not respected by their subordinates, and they know they don't have any idea of the bullshite that is raining down. Just for a second, imagine the person looking forward to a break just to drink a cup of coffee and collect their thoughts. Meanwhile, the WFH worker can just say "frick it", and take a break 15 minutes after their last one. I never know what the next 5 minutes are going to bring. WFH worker has the luxury of planning their whole day around work, instead of the opposite, That grinds on the gears the person who fights traffic just to get to the job on time, fights it on the way home after busting their arse, just to know they earned their pay that day.

Exact opposite. I work 3 days a week and make 150k. Most people are jealous of my work schedule. I can't stand fraudsters and liars. I will even call out people I work with doing shady shite just like I did the RT.

Sounds like you should find a WFH position. People waste way more time in the office.
