Elon has a lot of allies and 3.75 years is a long time for wounds to heal, especially if he moves back to the center.

It was probably also the most predictable event of 2025

The Fed Gov chews up and spits out any idealist, or the best among us.

All that is left is empty shells and vultures to pick over the bones of a once great civilization.

Elon isn't the first and won't be the last to give up on it.

The few that are interested in changing anything don't have enough of them to make a difference besides obstruction, and will never have enough power (like Veto power) to make much of a difference. It is what it is. Its just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic

I do on this, although Elon is a wolf in the henhouse on other things. Elon thinks America is mostly a collection of GDP pieces.

Elon is correct.
Massie is correct.
Rand is correct.

We have a slight chance to reverse course and promote fiscal restraint. In doing so, we lock up future elections.

If we don’t, the fiscal conservatives are going to be disinterested in the midterm elections.

Trump is a fool to align himself with big government and Linda Graham. It will be the destruction of the party and the destruction of America as we know it.

Right. I see this point thrown out a lot. At this juncture, how could anyone even say this with any certainty?

This thread will be quite different than the Massie/Paul threads.

Of course. Musk has a better track record of success. If your worst salesman causes a scene, you fire him. If your best salesman does, you tell him to take a break and cool down.

Elon brought a lot of people into MAGA, started DOGE, and provided a more free speech platform that controls discourse on the internet.

Rand and Massie gave us some no votes and some bills that never made it to the floor. (Rand entertains us every Christmas, so he gets a bonus point over Massie.)

Some people have earned more leeway.

It's the same reason I give Trump a pass on some things. He has earned it. He's not perfect, but he's the best we have. It's also why I'm willing to give him more than 4 months to deliver.

Besides, there's enough whining about every little thing Trump does, so there's really no reason for me to add to it when I disagree with him.

I'm not assigning any probability to it, just stating that this looks like the bet.

Clowns on this board still can't own the Trump issued COVID lockdowns. It was Faucci and Brix that were misadvising him! So the BBB and all the pork spending has to be someone else's fault!

Truly feels like Elon had an autist drive for reigning in the government's fricked up reckless spending, tried his best and was made a villain by Dems and Media and subsequently cock blocked from within his own party.

The richest man in the world with the presidents ear couldnt get anywhere to reign in the retards in congress. You and I are truly powerless. They're going to bankrupt us and theres nothing that can stop them.

It isn’t MAGA’s fault that Congress is useless and they have accomplished absolutely nothing in essentially 4 months of “work”. I think Trump made the mistake of trusting Thune and Johnson to be able to produce a competent bill. He was wrong

He's cheered the product all along and done absolutely nothing to reign in any excesses in that regard.

Instead, he's turned his sights on those who objected to it.
