The bill would forgive $50,000 in student loans for Americans
In completely unrelated news - every college in America increases tuition by $12,500 per year.

What is the meaning behind this sentence?
Living within your means should be a mantra for everyone everywhere.
Are you mocking this? Is the DNC mantra live extravagantly until the debt cripples you and you rely on the government for everything?

So no compensation for the lenders who are counting on the money to survive?

I will sue the federal government if they ever pass something like this. Using the tax money I paid on the money earned to pay back my loans while forgiving others loans is enraging.

I’ll ask this again since no one has answered. What does this bill do with the other side of the equation - those people who legitimately purchased the debt as an investment asset?

Average debt is like 30k.
Its basically subsidizing upper middle class kids who don't need it

Feelings?
It's absolute fact. What's wrong with you other than cheering because your loans are going to be paid off for you because you can't pay them.

Elizabeth Warren Introduces Bill to Cancel $640 Billion in Student Loan Debt

Either way you look at it, the money will not be repaid. That money is gone.
bullshite. Those people should get an additional 5% income tax until the loan is paid off. Even if they’re paying nothing now. Why should all of the other taxpayers incur an additional $650B deficit for a these loans.
The only thing dumber than this was the Fed taking over the program in the first place.

So I’ll answer my own question since there are several here who have already made up their mind without even looking at the details.
The bill has no plans to pay for the $640 Billion other than the government will pay for the $640 Billion (and then more every year thereafter as the bill contains measures for a ongoing debt relief program). Warren mentions the possibility of tax increases on the “wealthy” (laughable) and a wealth tax at 2% (its never enough).
So, bmy, there is your answer on how it negatively affects taxpayers.
Trump needs to jump on this. He could use this to negotiate gutting the Department of Education. Basically agree to some debt relief in exchange for all but ending federal student loan programs. Obviously the Dems won’t go for it but then they’ll look like the bad guys in the eyes of the very people they are pandering to and, on the off chance they agree, Trump would have solved the bigger issue.

In short, the government is just going to eat those loans. Which, ethical implications aside, should be obvious even to a morally-bankrupt moron like bmy that it negatively affects taxpayers.
Thing is, he doesn’t care.
