So if you know you will start out making less than $100K that’s $50K of free money you can use to spend however you’d like during college. Hell, just invest it.

Pretty sure that would be illegal, per your master promissory note.

At least a home is a tangible asset. A degree is only as good as the market you live in.

It appears that this will frick investors who hold the debt.

Don't take a loan you can't afford to pay back. Not hard.

It is that easy, but a large segment views a college degree has an investment...not the opportunity created with the degree, but the degree itself. To this population a Sociology degree and an Electrical Engineering degree carry the same weight. So these kids who are first in the family to get the education are sitting on huge debt for nothing. They never use the degree and they never will.

High schools need to really start hammering away at these kids the importance of employable job skills, thru apprenticeships, trade schools, or college.

Colleges need to educate, but there needs to be no loans given for people to go get degrees in fields that have no value.

We don't loan money for a house without knowing the value of the house. The same should be the standard for the degree and the student.

You want to get a loan to study a bullshite major at a bad regional school after graduating high school with a 2.0 GPA. Denied. Period.

The bill would forgive $50,000 in student loans for Americans in households earning less than $100,000 a year.

That's stupid. Forgive it for the people actually making money and pay the bills. They'll put all that money back into the economy.

Because I busted my arse and lived beneath my means for years to pay my debt.

Now my money will be taken from me in order to pay off someone else’s debt who thinks it’s owed to them.

And dont pretend like it isn’t my money paying off these freeloader’s loans. Nothing is really free. It all comes from our taxes.

So yes, you lazy assholes getting bailed out fricks me and every other working taxpayer.

Those aren't the only types of people that are struggling with student loans.

We have PLENTY of working class families who meet this description.

Then you have non traditional families to consider. Also some people live alone (isnt that the GOP mantra, live cheap if you cant afford more).

All of those cases involve people paying bills.

So this fricks anyone who has more than 1 degree or a household with both parents having a degree.

Even worse it hurts those that worked to get Phds

I have a large amount of student loan debt from my doctoral studies.
I incurred it, and I’ll pay it.
These people are thieves.

I just have to ask this again.

Notwithstanding how retarded just forgiving the debt in the way she describes is..............does her bill have a plan for CHANGING how student loans are done AFTER this cancellation?

I mean, ya know, that seems kinda important.

that is why I said it was a large segment. Of course it is not everyone. But it is a large portion.

To a certain extent I was the same way, I just got lucky. But I gave almost zero thought to wanting to.have real success after college. I just sought out majors that kept me out of the hard math.

I really am not condemning the folks with huge debt, but we really need to see a change in the lending practices and the way kids plan for their working life.
