Electric Cars Are Now Being Targeted For Overloading The Electric Grids

BUT they want EVERYBODY to not use Gas burning cars!

Tesla has asked owners in Texas not to charge their cars during a heat wave to help avoid blackouts and overloading the state’s failing power grid.
The alert comes as the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) called on residents to conserve energy. They have asked the state’s residents to refrain from using electricity from appliances and more to stop the grid from being pushed to near-emergency conditions.
“A heat wave is expected to impact the grid in Texas over the next few days. The grid operator recommends to avoid charging during peak hours between 3 pm and 8 pm, if possible, to help statewide efforts to manage demand”, an in-car alert sent to Tesla owners reads

They won't be happy until were here...

Not gonna lie, I'd take an electric truck or something big BUT this doesn't surprise me.

There’s an old MAD magazine but somewhere about stuff the government did which was supposed to be a low cost fix to something that ended up being a massive cost instead.
My favorite of those was a “before” scene of increasing student loans for college and an “after” scene of a plague of chronically unemployed anthropology PhDs educated under that act.
They didn’t have most “studies” programs at that time but they would serve the same purpose today.

We could upgrade our electrical grid.
Build Nuclear Power Plants, clean Coal Plants, etc.
That might be an idea.

Nah buddy.. they want you walking. The same POS radical environmentalists attacking fossil fuels aren’t going to let you attach a buggy to an animal for transportation

They would be OK with attaching a set of Bronies to the wagon to pull it.

Nope. That's animal cruelty. (it isn't)
They want us to use Flintstones cars and Powerwheels. If you don't live in a large city with most things in walking distance and public transport, that's a you problem to them.

We street level idiots knew several years ago the nationwide electrical grid is woefully underdeveloped to handle millions of EVs …hooked up pulling the additional load required to charge these vehicles. It’s very disheartening and infuriating to know we have very dumb people controlling our economy and in many ways our lives.

I would love to own an electric vehicle but right now it just does not make sense! We are not there yet. Grids are not ready, batteries are not where they need to be, and paying double for the equivalent gas vehicle makes zero sense!

Am I wrong in assuming that Nuclear energy production has now been perfected to a point wherein the 'nuclear waste' problem is negated? As the Waste can be recycled and used as fuel?
Of course, batteries are still a problem. Our real focus should be on determining just what is behind the UFO thing. And attempting to 'cut a deal' (Demilitarization?) for the High Tech therein.
One thing is for sure, everybody can't have a car.

I don’t think it is fully perfected but the amount of waste leftover is a hell of a lot less, volume-wise, than it’s was from prior generations of reactors.

My main opposition to electric vehicles. The grid is ready. Supply or demand

That blow up in Japan really muddied the Nuclear energy water. I think we all know that maintaining current populations and trying to guarantee some sort of societal 'equity' minus abandoning current individual affluence levels (Capitalist/Elitist Left) is a bridge too far.
Sometimes I think it's better to just go fishing, and abandon civic responsibility. Like trying to put a square peg in a round hole.
