Just because people have lied doesn't mean they are always lying. We have multiple sources for the information now. Confirmed by multiple news agencies, none of them citing the Fox article (I know that lie was going around Reddit), and the governor of the state in which they all live.
That is enough for most people in most circumstances.

The FBI and DOJ are not going to announce discovery of evidence in a murder investigation. The info was reported by the media, probably from a leak. The FBI is not going to release information until this trial is over.
