White guy murdered by police in MD while sleeping.
Militarization of Police is YUGE issue within our society (check out Radley Balko for in-depth analysis)
Excerpts:
While most police may be good guys, often their collective goals and tactics are unconstitutional and cause much more harm than they should. Often, they are in direct conflict with Natural Rights.

Excerpts:

Maryland man who was shot and killed by a police officer was asleep in his bedroom when police opened fire from outside his house, an attorney for the 21-year-old man’s family said Friday. The man's girlfriend was also wounded. The Montgomery County Police Department said in a news release Friday that Duncan Socrates Lemp “confronted” police and was shot by one of the officers early Thursday. Rene Sandler, an attorney for Lemp’s relatives, said an eyewitness gave a “completely contrary” account of the shooting. She said police could have “absolutely no justification” for shooting Lemp based on what she has heard about the circumstances. “The facts as I understand them from eyewitnesses are incredibly concerning,” she told The Associated Press.

warrant that police obtained to search the Potomac home Lemp shared with his parents and 19-year-old brother doesn’t mention any “imminent threat” to law enforcement or the public, Lemp’s relatives said in a statement released Friday by their lawyers. Nobody in the house that morning had a criminal record, the statement adds. “Any attempt by the police to shift responsibility onto Duncan or his family, who were sleeping when the police fired shots into their home, is not supported by the facts,” the statement says. A police department spokesman didn’t immediately respond to the statements by the family or their lawyer. The department's news release on Friday says tactical unit members were serving a “high-risk” search warrant around 4:30 a.m. when one of the unit's officers fatally shot Lemp. Police detectives recovered three rifles and two handguns from the home. Lemp was prohibited from possessing firearms, police said. “Detectives were following up on a complaint from the public that Lemp, though prohibited, was in possession of firearms,” the release says without elaborating. Sandler said the family believes police fired gunshots, not a flashbang or other projectile, from outside the home, including through Lemp’s bedroom window, while he and his girlfriend were sleeping. Nobody in the home heard any warnings or commands before police opened fire, she said.

Didn’t read it all, but apparently that’s the price you pay now for not wearing a mask at all times.

So nobody in the house owned any guns? These servants of the citizens are putting on a performance that is eroding support for them as a group.
Don't bother responding that most are good, because that is not relative to my post. Support for them is being eroded by this kind of BS regardless if 99.99999% of them are good.

I read that the police recovered two hand guns and three rifles, or visa versa.

I can't say what I really want to about the police without getting a private message.

I'd suspect the majority of black people would say "Sounds about right", not "fake news".

Conclusion not supported by the facts, IMO. At one time I was pro LEO as you could be. Gave money to multiple police benevolent organizations. NO more.

If he was black the cops would have sprinkled a little crack on him for good measure.

Well they wanted to go home that night. Police have loved ones too.

Whoever approved a "high risk" warrant against a man with no record living in a house owned by his parents that had no record and the cops that fired into a house with no threat should all be publicly executed by firing squad.
Same with the people involved in shooting that black EMT lady and arresting her boyfriend for defending his home.
Like all government corruption, this will continue until there are serious consequences.

The whole thing seems weird.

Nowhere in that story does it say why he couldn’t possess firearms and why they were executing a no knock search warrant.

Why not just wait until the guy is taking the garbage to the street or mowing the yard?

Where is the media and Liberal outrage ?

I'm in no way justifying what looks like another "over-flex" of police power...
But this story is full of holes.
Why was the suspect prohibited from being in possession of firearms if nobody in the home had a criminal record? Adjudicated as insane? And if so, did those firearms belong to someone else in the home, who had them locked up in a safe? Seems like the real details will clear up this muddy picture.

The quoted material contradicts itself...seems Lemp, at least, must have had some kind of criminal record. It kind of leads one to assume the whole thing is crap from both sides.
