If he pays right away will it open the door for others to falsely accuse him on something back in the '90's?

I actually think that will sting a little. Trump does not seem to me to be the sort of man who has a lot of liquid assets. I would describe him as a mark-to-market near billionaire, sort of the "rich guy" equivalent of a dentist who's worth $1,000,000 on Zillow but damn near lives paycheck to paycheck.

OP is correct the total is $5 million.
$2 million in compensatory damages and $20,000 in punitive damages for the battery claim
$2.7 million in compensatory and $280,000 in punitive damages for the defamation claim
I still think he tanked the case on purpose for various reasons. There is no way a veteran of as many depos as he has done would make the number of unforced errors he did in the depo. They weren't on blindside questions but ones his attorneys knew they would ask and they would have coached him on how to respond to them. In several instances, his answers were like he took the list of things his attorneys told him not to say and used it as a script.

So Trump’s not the silver tongued snake oil salesman some people love to say, as he’s up front and unashamed of his positions, and here he was doing the “unthinkable” by today’s standards and actually respecting the idea of being under oath. So help him God, as he additionally observes that specific aspect as well being a Christian.
I’m just giving the much more favorable potential version for an different take on the thing.

Says the guy that claims he would have served the country if called to do so, but simultaneously refused to do so on his own accord.
Your cowardice won’t be lived down.
You are the last person that should be noting that someone else may be doing the heavy lifting on Trump’s behalf. People died so you could promote your false valor.

He will never pay a penny of this sham decision by a bias jury.

Sounds like he’s just an idiot

Trump has no chance to ever win a trial in Manhattan with a NY prosecutor and a Manhattan jury. It doesn't matter what the charge is or what the "evidence" shows. Frick New York.
