not that level of operation

we all create false memories daily. it doesn't require an authority figure to plant

I do find this topic to be fascinating.

Curious as to how she approached it.

It's from 2008 and, shockingly, she doesn't use Ford.

Christine Ford Blasey's research paper in 2008 included a study in which participants were TAUGHT SELF-HYPNOSIS & noted hypnosis is used to retrieve important memories "AND CREATE ARTIFICAL SITUATIONS."

Thus, hypnosis can be utilized to focus on certain aspects of an experience or memory or to compare and contrast different aspects of it, thereby modulating the associated emotions. Perhaps surprisingly, though, hypnosis has rarely been used as the primary treatment for patients with clinical depression

Yes, that is how it appears. It's interesting that they put so much effort in erasing her online life and she presented herself as "Dr Ford" when it appears she rarely used "Ford" in titles, signatures, etc.

Also, she is way down the list of authors and it is hard to know what the paper really means without reading the whole thing (ain't nobody got time for that) but leaping to absurd conclusions is all the rage now days.

Not at all, it happens all the time to everyday people and everyday memories.

I've described the phenomenon several times throughout the last few weeks on here, not making a long post about it again.

Research counterfactual thinking, false memory syndrome, and the Mandela effect.

c. At age 40 you recall that you had pro potential and some baseball scouts talked to you about a contract. But you turned it down to take care of your aged parents.

Damn. Your baseball career went that way too?

If you are interested in solid research-based information related to false memories, read Elizabeth Loftus' work.

I read somewhere throughout all this mess that she goes by Blasey in general. I think she just tried to go by Ford for this fiasco to try and protect a smidge of her previous anonymity.

I also think their original intent would be that the anonymous letter and polygraph would have been enough to tank the nomination, and when they saw that wasn't going to work she was forced out of her hopeful anonymity.
