They couldn't improve their lives in 15 tears to get off subsidies and assistance?

Time to get to work it sounds like.

I'm sure it's just that easy for a disabled persons to move. I'm sure they have a vehicle and a driver at hand willing to move their stuff to the East or LaPlace or wherever there is affordable rent.

I have friends who live in that building. Super nice and definitely trendy. A 570 square foot apartment costs $1050.

Why would your friends pay full price to live with people who need huge subsidies? Mixed income areas generally trend toward the lower end over time.

How was he stealing if he was paying rent based off government subsidies to the complex? Sounds like American Can was stealing more than the low income tenants who paid their rent.

I'm glad this property is turning the corner. It's too nice to have regular market rate renters having to deal with some of the low income types

Yep, we should probably just euthanize the disabled vets mentioned in the article.

That seems to be what your Obama had intended for the VA system he continued to kill of our vets.

I'm interested to hear the poli board's thoughts.
The property owner fulfilled his obligations. The market controls the rent.

Also, didn't the subsidized renters realize this was coming? Isn't it yet another poor decision on their part?

The pet class that all taxpayers pay to house and feed feel entitled to whatever they want. The truth is, there are more section 8 units in N.O. and these people will just be moved to another unit.

How?

the landlord was forced to rent to him for below market prices via governmental regulation

he got to live in much nicer accommodations than he was paying for and the complex was losing money every month. what exactly was he providing in exchange for this loss? nothing. it was forced by government

You will always have some ownership of that man. It is in the books. Your vote was cast and your name will always show you voted for that man. Own it
