The federal government filing a meritless lawsuit as free advertising for a candidate of their party wouldn't be election interference?

Regardless of the merits of the lawsuit, Districts courts have made multiple rulings over the last 2 years supporting the states rights of running their own elections. There is a slight difference when it comes to federal elections, such as a senate seat. Congress does have the power to set guidelines for the states when it comes to an election where a federal seat is being elected. Once again, the Trump administration uses the wrong path or venue to try and impose its will. Maybe there was not enough time to go through Congress on this, but either way, this lawsuit will be rejected by the courts.

So you don't believe this other Dan Sullivan joined the race to confuse voters?
He finished in 3rd place with 2.5% of votes. You think he should be on the ticket?
Sounds like an attempt to confuse voters to me. That's exactly how you people operate. Cheat any way you can.
This exact same thing happened in Flordia a few years ago. Republicans recruited a guy with the same name as the Democrat on the ticket to join the race and confuse people. If I remember correctly, if you combined the votes, the Democrat would have won.
I don't remember you calling it out.
I don't think it should be legal at all for either side, not sure how you make a rule against someone not allowed to use their name, but something should be done otherwise it will continue. But lets not pretend the Republican party hasn't done this already and you are somehow high and mighty.

Please show me were this has been decided.
It is free advertisement that two candidates have similar names.

Lawfare!
Irrelevant.
Running a guy because he has the same name isn't nefarious at all!

You agreeing with the dems running someone with the same name as the Republican solely to confuse voters is the least surprising thing on this board.

Why?
He qualified as a candidate. Why can't he run?

I am only speaking of the merits.
Your inability to understand that is the least surprising thing on this board.

The Supreme Court of Alaska has already made the ruling that matters.

It's a valid lawsuit.
Posted on 10/23/26 at 5:54 pm to SlowFlowPro
So - do you really think this fake Sullivan is a real candidate?
You support a direct action by the democrat party to dilute the voting base?
not worth having this debate -

Those 'merits' only seem to register with you when it is support of a democrat interest.
