If it saves only one tax payer dollar it’s worth it. Tax payer money should require the most accountability and every cent should be tracked, verified it was used, used properly, and received by the correct person/organization/program

"Not to Exceed" has meant "spend it or lose it" for our government for decades.

How much money should be spent to save that dollar and it still be worth it? If we spend 14 million on doge and save $1 is that a good program?

Those are two peas in the same pod. It's hard to avoid the collateral damage regardless of intent.

When you dig into some of them, though, the values seem to come from what looks like a “not to exceed” contract value. It is unclear how many (if any) ever come close to these amounts, and a couple that I have looked up seem to show actual awards that are a small fraction of that.

i assume they have historical data regarding cleared checks no?

i am not going to be able to find it, but I remember reading that the policy has long been that hen an agency is assigned a maximum budget figure that the agency must spend it all.
The current Administration is taking the position that that is not the case. Only use what is needed and anything left over is not spent or "returned" to the Treasury.

Cool but you and your party made 90% of this mess and is actively fighting all efforts to rein in waste and outright theft. You don’t get to fricking chirp about the manner in which it gets fixed… at least not without looking like a massive douche.

You should probably read what DOGE puts out vs what people claim DOGE is saying. They are not the same thing.

Correct. Well, moreso if they don't spend their full budgeted allowance, the amount doesn't roll into their next year's budget. So, the lose that money, so of course it gets spent one way or another, thus my hammer reference earlier. That is exactly what happened.

Fairly common budgetary practice honestly, especially with your utility companies. Leads to lots of stuff like that. At an old company, we had a Southern Company rep actually tell us we needed to go back and quote them higher on a project for that very reason.

Well, you can take comfort in “owning the libs”, or you can concentrate on winning the persuadable middle that won the election for Trump.

Again. Your concern is noted. Trump is not running again.

If saving hundreds of billions of dollars isn't enough to persuade the "middle" folks then they were never in the middle to begin with.

Anyway you look at it...hundreds of billions will be saved.

Not sure I'm following. If you're talking about the "agreement" with Culturepoint, LLC, $9,999,999 is how much they are authorized to pay Culturepoint. So if they terminate this agreement, those payments will never leave the door, which is future savings. Second of all, how did they come up with $9,999,999 when making that arrangement. I'd love to see that scope of work. And this looks like some sort of professional services contract for DEIA educating/training for the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWI) within CFPB. Wtf is all that noise? Why is there a OMWI, what kind of arbitrary number is $9,999,999, and for DEIA training? The whole thing is bullshite.

Huh? Explain how libertarians did this? And how they're fighting it? Hell JoJo even came out and said good for maga cleaning up the mess.

This is a far cry from:

“Elon has already said he has been inaccurate in his statements”

Idiot.
