If you think this thread is "whining" it's because you're thin skinned and can't stand any criticism of your favorite politician. Which is a pathetic place to be in life for any adult.

Trump wants the media to challenge his pardons so he can go scorched earth on the Biden auto pen pardons.

And how does that benefit the country exactly?

The pardon power is now stupid and abused. It’s been that way for a while.

I won’t say Joe is the start but damn…

There are 3 recently that no one seems to agree with

Reality TV clowns
NBA Youngboy
Chicago murderer and drug dealer

1. No idea who they are, some trashy southern white influencers, probably guilty of being stupid and greedy, may have committed an actual white collar victimless crime, don’t know don’t care

2. Dude was released from prison already after serving his sentence, don’t care if he is pardoned after the fact

3. Dude is serving a 200 year sentence on state murder charges and will die in prison. Commuting his federal sentence for crimes committed while being locked up the last 50 years is something I also don’t care about

And its MAGA that is criticizing him for it

Seems to mostly be the TDS loons and Never Trumpers who are melting with a few MAGA caught up in the mix because they are too lazy to read past the clickbait headlines and have no idea that Youngboy had already served his time and the Chicago guy still has 150 years on his state sentence.

Yes, but they usually save them until the end of term to avoid the appearance of impropriety. I think appearance of impropriety is part of the point here.

There has never been a plan. He shoots from the hip and acts like a victim when people question him.

We're having a normal civilized discussion about what his intent might be

It's not a panic

Does the tone of this thread indicate any panic to you?

I don’t see waiting til the end as avoiding the appearance of impropriety. I see it as cowardice.

Either one is worthy of a pardon or not.

Timing shouldn’t matter.

Agreed

Doing it on the way out the door is almost a tacit admission that it shouldn't have been done

It matters because the power and the income stream goes away at the end of the term. Gotta show what's on offer, going rates, etc.

That’s one way to look at it.

I will go with either the pardon is right or it isn’t.

Yeah, whatever you say about most administrations' process, it usually looks different than this (from GEOTUS's pardon atty):
