So, if Texas shuts down, don’t we have to shut down the entire country again? Was that not what Democrats were whining about when New York was the hot spot?

The entire State of Texas never really shut down. There are areas that saw very limited exposure. I can see a phase roll back in COVID19 areas of greatest concentration. One most also note that Texas has a large testing system. So an increase of numbers isnt that surprising, especially among the asymptomatic .

What you’re missing is that Republican leaders (ahem... Trump) led their kool-aid drinkers to believe this was nothing. And Abbott and his gang were adamantly against masks, until all of the sudden, they weren’t.

The can make facemaks mandatory for the whole country. Everyone has to wear it or face financial penalty. But then the Karen’s and media will move on the next and then the next.

Nothing will fricking appease this mob until there is a new person in the White House that is a fact.

Honestly, this was always going to happen regardless. It needs to make its way through Texas. It’s gone from Louisiana to Texas. It’s gone from California to Arizona.

I feel for you. I feel like another shutdown would absolutely crater the economy. People would trade economic security for soup and bread lines if it was what their media masters deemed to be the right choice.

The problem is that the states like Texas already shutdown when places like Louisiana and New York were reeling. It isn’t as if Texas or Arizona have been open that long (early May).

I never cared to begin with. So you stop it today. Flu viruses mutate every fricking year. Every year.

You’re just biking to nowhere at this point. Time to just live life.

Our small retail business is our primary source of income. These last several months have been beyond stressful. Small example: Our county hasn't mandated face masks and neither has our city. However, there is a FB Karen group recently formed about which businesses are masking up and which ones aren't. We were called out for not requiring masks, instead asking that everyone do what made them most comfortable (employees and customers). So now, our business, along with others, are being bashed on FB for not requiring masks when even our city and county aren't requiring them?!?!?! The retail and service businesses can cause you to lose your faith in humanity, but these last several months have crushed virtually all the hope I had in people.

Run a sale...30% off non mask wearers. Full retail for mask

Yeah, they can’t shut down. I think this stunt by the governor is just a threat to try and get people to practice social distancing. It’s gonna make its way through regardless.

It doesn’t matter on an individual basis if these politicians frick the economy again

A second shutdown would make the first look mild in impact

And there’s no guarantee of more money coming

yes. I'm ehs. The masks we've foisted off on everyone are for compliance, not protection. Its embarrassing at this point.
