Ron isn’t the best debated out there. Should be an interesting evening.
On the flip side of he does do well it will give him a boost past Nikki

Huge gamble for Ron. But he should be able to bury Gavin Newsome.

If Ron's smart, he paints Gavin up and down with the fact he has a vison of turning America into an experiment of Socialism. His track record in California should be the bullets hammered over and over.

Newsome has a wizardly talent for making running a dangerous cultural cesspool sound like a crowning achievement. And carries himself like the White House is his destiny. This isn’t a format that Ron particularly shines. Newsome is a tougher out than you’d think

Plus he’s going to look 7ft tall standing across from Ron. Which is really gonna have the MAGA crowd jacking off

If Newsom runs, he will win it all. There are too many dumb white women that will vote for him because he looks nice.

Honestly, I think more and more politicians should do this, regardless of if they are running for office. I miss the days when two people, from two different parties, with two differing opinions, debated their positions and tried to sway others based on their arguments.

Politics has devolved into the lowest common denominator where everything is pot shots to cameras and calling your opponent racist or sexist if they don't agree with you.

Would love to see Youngkin and Eric Adams do a similar debate. Nothing wrong with other viewpoints.

Because for the past year, the Establishment has been trying to subliminally and casually gaslight the populace into believing that the inevitable candidates will be Desantis and Newsom, and they're not ready to stop trying yet.

They're still trying to imprison Trump, and they know that no amount of fraud will help Biden overcome Trump in the 2024 election. I'm just amazed that they're still pushing this plan, and fearful at what they'll have to do to actually pull it off with less than a year to go.

Newsom didn't take that trip to China just to school little kids on the basketball court. He was there to make sure he has Xi's CCP support during the coming year.

Why? Why are they even debating?
Newsome claims he isn’t running and DeSantis won’t be the Rep. nominee.

Fact. White women will believe every lie coming out of his mouth & run to the polls to vote for him. I pray Ron is ready & prepared for this because I am deathly afraid Newsome is going to be our next President.

Ron is great in a two person debate. He has, surprisingly to me, struggled with the multi-person GOP debates. His, and Florida's, policies are light years better than Newsome and California so he will, hopefully, shine here.

There is also no crowd present.

Newsom thrives on charming a crowd in person.

This strikes me as reasonable an explanation of what's going on here, as anything.

Ron is easily the best debater currently in the race. He is calm and has outstanding recall on facts and figures and he can point to specific accomplishments. He has a clear voice and comes across as an adult and he is very precise with his language. He very, very rarely makes a mistake and in a 1v1 that is unlikely to occur.

I mean Trump was never great at debating but he looked terrible last cycle and I can't imagine how bad he will be this cycle.

Vivek has moments where he is awesome but he's also very rehearsed. All of his jabs are pre planned. He also oversteps and makes himself very unlikable, the attack on Haley's daughter is a good example. While I'm sure some think it was awesome that was a MAJOR turnoff for most people and it didn't gain him any new support.

Haley is just a wind up toy. It's all talking points and rehearsed crap. She actually is the most like Newsom on the GOP side.

Oh and spare me with the "They shouldn't be debating!" idiocy. Debates and discussion like this is what politics should be about. We need a lot more of this and not less. it reminds me of the Cruz/Sanders debate on Health Care. We all benefit.
