Because it's a free country, and you're free to bitch about it and not watch.

Huge gamble for Ron. But he should be able to bury Gavin Newsome.

If Ron's smart, he paints Gavin up and down with the fact he has a vison of turning America into an experiment of Socialism. His track record in California should be the bullets hammered over and over.

There is literally no upside to this debate for supporters of Donald Trump or for Trump's chances in 2024. The only upside is for Newsom and the Democrats, and the "Anybody but Trump" fake Republicans / country club Republicans and for DeSantis himself.

The fact that the RNC is allowing this debate to happen is proof that they are against Trump and that DeSantis is putting his Longshot candidacy ahead of the fact that a strong performance by Newsom could force the vulnerable Biden off the ticket and weaken our chances to save the country in 2024. I hate DeSantis for this.

Ron isn’t the best debated out there. Should be an interesting evening. On the flip side of he does do well it will give him a boost past Nikki

If Newsom walked out and in his opening remarks stated he’s decided to enter the race, he would immediately be perceived as the marquis figure if the debate, Desantis will be 2nd fiddle. And that’s without actually outperforming Desantis at all.

God forbid they stand next to each other.

This is such a terrible idea (at best).

What about the filing deadlines that have passed and are coming up real soon? Are they (D)ifferent for Newsome?

Trump is the only Republican candidate who has refused to say he will support any other nominee except himself. He has supporters like Loomer and Catturd who have openly said they will only vote for Trump and then no other Republicans down ballot and no other Republican ever again. Yet to you he is the true Republican.

It's amazing logic.

Don’t watch then. You’ve already said that nothing Desantis says or does can “win” the debate.

So this isn’t for you, so kindly don’t watch and don’t comment.

I mean, I suppose there are ways that Ron could really hammer what a disaster Newsom has been as governor of California that would help any republican who might face him in a general election.

If he tap dances around that and sticks to more esoteric issues, you will understand what's really up here.

I'll expound further if that's what happens.

I'm trying to stay as confident as you that he's simply going to hammer on the disaster that is California currently.

I have no idea if he will or not or if he will do well or not because I cannot see the future.

But he is excellent in the type of situation coming up: 1 on 1 settings.

No one does better than him at succinctly recalling facts and figures, and making cogent, arguments while also being aggressive. Its where he shines.

Anyone downplaying this, asking why its happening, or cheering for Newsom is simply not a Conservative and is an enemy of that movement.

Because the poll leading Republican is too chicken shite to debate.

I know. I was trying to sell it to someone who was doing so, brother, and you chose to lash out at me.

I hope he takes the dude out at his kneecaps.

Not only that, the guy supposedly winning "Really likes Gavin Newsom" and "can't say anything bad about him because he has complimented" him multiple times.

We have that vs. a guy trying to beat him in a debate

And the fans of the first guy think Desantis and Newsom are in league.

You literally cannot make it up.

This is silly. Trump will be the nominee this year, but Ron’s career is far from over.

Ron is not a good debater, unless you define good debater by English teacher standards. Winning a debate is not the same as being accurate. He's awkward, his facial expressions take more attention than his words. I like him a lot, but wish he would have never moved into the public eye. He's like a running back that has speed and size but no ability to hit the right hole.

Ron parried debating Newsom for quite a while, but now that he's dropping for months in a row he's going to take this hail Mary. Newsom is going to kill Ron, because he's a slick guy.

This is a last hurrah for both guys - Newsom needs to convince enough people to dethrone a sitting president (unbelievably hard to do) and Ron needs to convince people to give him money again (also hard to do).

He's been the most effective conservative governor of most of our lives. His accomplishments are incredibly impressive.

I'm very glad he got into the public eye.
