He certainly can’t handle criticism as many people over the last year have been banned from his official account.

Yes.
The 1st amendment does not protect defamation. And anyone who does those types of things can be legally be blocked by a congressman.
Given the OP, it's highly likely that he is guilty of such and that was the reason he was blocked. He does the same thing here almost daily.
