Then you have no proof that it works. Then you need to get with the others in this thread who are actively spouting it as "see it works".

I'm in utter disbelief you can be this stupid.

Eta....or are you being deliberately obtuse?

Damn interesting approach.

Ummm, you know the 60% drug treatment increase has nothing to do with new addicts.

And what drug are you talking about? Cuz mj isn't adictive, only habitual.

No it has not. Again you pointed out a decrease during WWII. That does not work.

Okay, I'll say it. You're a moron. You keep discrediting the graph that TA posted because our soldiers were overseas fighting in WWII.

I guess in your head, our soldiers were over there fighting nazis from 1930 to 1965. I had no idea!

I may need to brush up on my history.

I oppose it. I grew up in the 60s and am familiar with it. It intoxicates you. You are in an altered state. It dumbs you down big time. It leads to stronger drugs. It supports the illegal drug trade. It supports the illegal human trafficking trade. It supports illegal immigration. It is bad for your body and mind. It is very far from being harmless.

He's being deliberately obtuse and argumentative.

As the self-appointed referee in this contest, I declare Jjdoc to be the loser.

Now go do something productive and useful.

Yes - and I would advocate for open season on any drug dealers. Shoot them on sight.

AND - if you find someone smoking pot in the public, arrest him and 'induce' him to reveal who he bought it from. If he does so - leading to a conviction - then his sentence would be reduced to a fine and probation. If not, sentence him to prison until his memory improves.

We can move to that strictly, but you have yet to show an example where it works to the extent you have put out.

Yes, I have proven the following

-Both legalization and decriminalizing are cheaper
-They're both safer
-They're both closer to freedom than the war on drugs

Unlike yourself, I favor freedom and small limited government

You can buy weed legally in several states. No one is overdosing and dying.

At the same time, imported pot is dropping stripping the cartel of its power

Markets at work!

Sure. First question: Would you say the DEA is pro marijuana or anti marijuana?

How much have we spent locking up people and fighting the war on pot? It’s absolutely mind boggling that anyone is dumb enough to think the current course is sustainable. The public is fed up with these ridiculous sentences for possessing weed. The cost of locking people up, subsidizing them when they can’t find a job after being in prison and the cycle that continues is pure insanity.

The current US policy is to protect the cartels exclusive market for drugs. That's what you want?

Yep. If people want to reform welfare, you have to revamp theCJ industry first

He is a coward and a liar. He is not a medical doctor. Others have stated he has been caught in lied about this. You won't see any evidence from him because there is none.

Just so we are all on the same page. You assert that legalizing weed will end the cartels and there is nothing negative socially or medically.

Colorado is your choice.

So here we go:

In today's news
LINK

quote:

Canadian County Sheriff's deputies have seized 143 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $490,000 in separate late December traffic stops, Sheriff Chris West reports.

Terry Burchette, 55, of Colorado Springs, Colorado was arrested on marijuana trafficking complaints and jailed. The 115 pounds marijuana is estimated to be worth $400,000, West reports.

Headline: LINK

quote:

More Colorado marijuana seized en route to other states, report finds

Postal inspectors seized more than 493lbs of pot from packages in 2013, quadruple the amount from 2010.

3.9 million in street valued seized

The above is 2017... and :

quote:

Deputies seized more than 800 marijuana plants in various stages of growth along with an estimated 500 pounds (227 kilograms) of recently harvested and dried marijuana.

Authorities say all the people arrested have connections to Mexico and one of them was a previously deported felon.

The Cartels... In Colorado. Working.

Illegal...

Here is another.. about a year ago:

quote:

22,000 pounds of pot seized in five county raid

Care to guess the value of that?

quote:

Investigators believe that it was one large criminal organization that was transporting marijuana out of Colorado and into Texas and Arkansas. The DEA has said that several houses were converted into exclusive grow operations. Investigators said 10 of the 12 homes were rental properties.

Cartel...

Social Effects:

quote:

The Unexpected Side Effects of Legalizing Weed

LINK

quote:

Colorado’s pot culture include increased use among teens, resulting in educational problems in middle schools and high schools, a spike in “edibles”-related emergency room visits, consumption by children and pets resulting in illness and death and regulatory confusion surrounding public consumption and enforcement.

quote:

In 2014 and 2015, nearly $6 million in pot revenues have been distributed to local governments. But the cost of increased law enforcement, drugged-driving incidents, fatal crashes, loss of productivity and a huge spike in gang-related crime bring into question the cost-benefit of those dollars.

quote:

Teen drug-related school expulsions are also on the rise. And the notion that prisons filled with minor drug offenders would be relieved of overcrowding—a selling point of legalizing marijuana—has been blown to smithereens.
