It's almost like drugs for treating aids were created and were effective around that time, or something Not sure what you're digging at here
You stated that Aids was down in Portugal due to drugs being decriminalized. There is NO connection to that. It's down world wide and it started WAY before the decriminalization by Portugal.

Major busts of CARTELS are still happening.
Because it's not legalized in Portugal, it's decriminalized for personal use.

Then explain the cartels working inside Portugal!

Uh, no. Aids is down for IV drug uses to to needle exchanges that can be directly traced to policy

Ple3ase couple that with the illegal growers in the US. Please couple that with other things they are moving across our borders.

Republican voters are embarrassing. The nancies in this thread who want government to step in and save everyone from the reefer should be ashamed.

Portugal has less of a drug problem than the USA
You are side stepping. Either there is a black market or there is not. Either decriminalization ended the black market there or not.
I linked to arrests and seizures made this year. It's 16 years. So you are saying the US has a bigger drug problem. Why are you changing arguments?
Now get back to being honest.

You should be ashamed that you do not care about the hundreds of people who die from marijuana overdoses each and every year.

Then you have no proof that it works. Then you need to get with the others in this thread who are actively spouting it as "see it works".

Now
Yes. We have a higher rate of both use and abuse than Portugal

In addition to your lack of economic knowledge, you don't know the difference between decriminalization and legalization

Then explain why it was down way before and in other parts of the world without that.
You cant use that as an argument when it happened every whers without that policy and not accept those policies as valid also.

I do. There are 2 arguments being made. 1 holds Portugal as a shining example. You started showing charts from there once Portugal was mentioned.
Either we are using them as an example or we are not. Which is it?
Now if you want to go legalization, fine. We can move to that strictly, but you have yet to show an example where it works to the extent you have put out.

And people won't just do one or the other they will mix....."you want a beer, wine, spirit, or brownie?"
But I ask you, all of sudden weed is legalized and by 2028 is commonly used and kills as many as alcohol...do you change your mind? If not then why even use it as an argument if it's inconsequential to your support of it?
